Cedar Crest Golf Club

About
Cedar Crest Golf Club in Murfreesboro sprawls across rolling farmland accented with groves of mature trees. The fairways on the front nine are wide open but they become narrower and tree lined on the back nine. The greens play fast and true and they are also well conditioned. There are not many sand traps to contend with but a smattering of elevation changes throughout the golf course cause an occasional uneven lie. Seasoned golfers looking for a challenge won't find it here but what you will find is a relaxed atmosphere that is ideal for a quick, casual round that is player friendly enough for beginners. In addition to the course, Cedar Chest Golf Club offers extensive practice facilities including a driving range and a two-tiered practice green.

Getting there
WOW the greens looks great for this time of year. I can't wait until the grass starts coming in. Everyone there have put in a lot of work in the off season. I think it will be one of the best courses around for the price in no time. Great job Cedar Crest
Good course
Course has a good layout and greens are in good shape. The Tee boxes are in need of a lot of work as they were bare of grass and hard to find a level spot.
Tee boxes are a joke
Tee boxes are completely mud and dan - there is 0 grass
Nice, but slow
The course was nice, decent conditions for February and the staff was very friendly. The pace of play was terrible. There was a 2-some in front of us and a 3-some I. Front of them who seemed to be the culprits; hitting multiple shots off every tee box. It was painful.
Great Round
Greens were in great shape. Course was good for this time of year. Always a great round.
Overall enjoy, but one thing needs improvement
Love playing this course. The only issue is that the tee boxes are not in any good shape. They are mostly sand and are extremely uneven. This is the case whether I’m playing them in the Spring/Summer or Fall/Winter. They need to rebuild them. Given the green fees, they should be higher quality. The rest of the course, including the greens are phenomenal.
Cart Path Only
Cart Path only stinks but the course was in good shape. Enjoyed playing but just a lot of walking after knee surgery.
Car path only on a beautiful day
They have a rule that states in his cart path only Monday through Thursday. I feel like they should change that when the Monday is the day before a holiday, and they are booked solid. It took a little over five hours to play 18 holes.
Course conditions/price
I can’t justify paying $65.00 + for a course in in bad condition. But Maintenance let down is evident.
Greens and Slow
Play was slow due to foursome in front of us unaware of golf course etiquette. Greens had a lot of ballmarks and were slow needing mowing.
Greens were horrible
Greens had not been cut and I played on Sunday. Pathetic for a course to not cut greens, not alert players to this and still charge high weekend rates.
Greens were not playable.
They had aerated some time ago but the real problem is that they hadn’t mowed it in probably a week+. They literally weren’t playable. They should have provided a warning. The fairways (solid shape) were tighter than the greens. Tee boxes need some work… some uneven lies but you could find a spot to hit from. I’ve previously played the course and not had the same issue.
Thanks for the great review, Tim5224884! We take a lot of pride in our conditions and we're thrilled to know that our hard work shows. We're excited for Spring, as well, and we hope to see you out here again soon!
