Crazy Hills, and Interesting Hole Layout
I traveled to Nashvillento play this and a few other courses in December. The course condition was in poor shape. Maybe it's because it's in December, but woodsy scenery, with various hills and unique hole placement, it was a good round. For $62 bucks I would have expected the course to be in better condition. Still would highly recommend. Hole was my favorite. The twe sits on a hill.
Great Layout
Course is a hidden gem with a wild layout over some very hilly terrain. The original 5th hole must have been a ton of fun to play - unfortunately they have shortened it to a par 3.
The course has numerous signature holes including the par 3 16th which I will always remember after getting a hole in one.
The course conditions were not perfect, but much better than previous reviewers described.
Carpet Greens
Grass on the Greens were long “carpet greens” and also very sandy very below average. The course has a Great layout , but golf is all about getting the ball in the hole and it’s not ideal when the greens are as long as Riverside Golf Links and you’re paying 70$ . Rangers were our and about pace of play great fairways in good condition decently challenging rough.
Stay away unless you pay $10
I have been coming here that last four years but I don’t know why. Today was the worst conditions ever. Can’t even putt on the greens. Out of 18 holes only two tee boxes are decent to hit from. The fact this course charges amount it does is criminal. It’s so bad words can’t describe it. I never write reviews on courses but today was just so bad and disappointing. The only positive is the course bought new carts this past year but up the rates for worst conditions.
Fun at a price
A fun quirky course, that’s decent for a beat around game. Not the place you want to play a serious round of golf at, just based on recent course conditions. Greens are in bad shape, but you could use the course as an opportunity to tune up your ball striking.
Fun course
Pebblebrook is a fun course. The front 9 has 2 par 5's in a row followed by 2 par 3's in a row which is interesting. Don't be surprised about the greens being probably in the worst possible shape imaginable. I understand that weekend rates are naturally higher, but you can't help but want a little money back when you have to putt through a literal sand trap on the green.
Do not play here anytime in the near future
They location is beautiful and this could be an amazing course, but I would not recommend anyone play here for $60. The greens were in ruin, there were mud pits all over the greens it look like someone drove a cart over the greens and started doing donuts. There was maybe one playable green on the 9th hole everything else was terrible. Also not that it mattered with the state of the greens but there was no where to practice putts since that was also under construction.
DO NOT PLAY HERE!!!
Do not play this course. I have played here probably 5 times and most recently on 9/1/24.
This course is in absolutely terrible condition. We reached the first green and it looked as if it had never been taken care of, mixed with if someone had driven an ATV in circles. 75% mud, different grasses growing, and craters all over the place. This held true for every green for the entire round. By far the worst greens I have ever played. I took a photo but it didn't seem to save...
Not to mention we paid $61 each to play!! Highway robbery for what we experienced. Truly is not worth more than $10 and that might be pushing it. They also allowed large groups to tee off together (which I don't normally care about) but they then took a 4-some of "walk ups" w/ no tee time and had them hop in front of us on 10 because there was a group of 10+ teeing off on 1...
I am not some scorned golfer, this is just the honest truth...it's insane to charge this much for the quality you receive. Golf has already gotten outrageous in Nashville and courses pray on us players as we are very limited in our options (for an affordable cost/quality) and know they can charge ridiculous pricing ($61 was about $30 too high even when this was in better shape). My only recommendation is to stop playing here and others like it until the owners decide to do something about both the course and cost to play.
Needs Work
I played this course back in the spring. Course was in great shape for the spring. However now the course is not worth playing. The greens are all burnt up. Tee boxes are hard as concrete. Needed a hammer to drive tee into ground. Only a few fairways had actual grass. They have irrigation, but looks like they have a problem with sprinklers. Water standing in areas where heads are located.
Not worth the money at this time. Great layout but needs lots of attention.
Greens
The greens are in rough shape and need to be sod cut and resodded
Course Improved
I played this course for the first time almost 9 months ago. I loved how it felt like riding through and playing in a forrest park. Back then, the trash all through out the course was horrible and because it was deep set and a lot were weathered I don't believe it was a one day one off. However, this round there was essentially none. My only complaint was several of the greens were essentially dirt but a recent water run off over those areas has affected them greatly. The course management is doing a great job to maintain and upgrade the course and are taking steps to repair as needed.
Greens Were Horrible
The course layout is nice and a fun scenic view of the TN Mountains and the fairways were fine for the most part. However, these greens were probably the worst greens I've played on this year out of 20 courses in the TN and KY area. They were sparse and barely had any grass on them. There were large chunks of mud all over and whole sections of green were completely unplayable. The greens while it was hot and dry that day were somehow muddy. Most shots plugged. I would not reccomend this course until they do some major overhaul of their greens.
Poor course management
Course is a good layout.
Seems as if they don’t have a superintendent to maintain grounds. Green are in terrible shape
