Bring your A game, long par 3s
Eagle's Landing is a great, well-maintained, golf course. The fairways and greens are in great shape, bunkers are in great shape. The course is long from the blues, see my note below, but there aren't any skinny fairways, unfair landing zones, or hidden obstacles/hazards. We played the day after a big rainstorm and I would advise not doing that because the course is surrounded by bog/marsh and does not drain very well. Lake 9 had a lot of casual water, especially on the first two and final three holes.
If you are a 10+ handicap or not a long hitter, play from the whites. Creek 9 has two long par 3's, 190+ to the back pin, and Lake 9 has two 200+ par 3s. You're not going to enjoy yourself unless you're honest about your game. The course is amazing and don't ruin your day thinking you're going to find 20+ yards out of nowhere. This course is long and difficult.
Beautiful View and Track Layout
Played the Creek and Lake courses today. The views on both courses were very nice. The Creek and Lake courses were in great shape from tee to green. Bought the Ideal Golfer to play course. It is definitely a repeat visit required. Strategy play was a necessity to play the Lake. The ninth box on the Lake will fool you so be careful. A nice cigar, buddies and winning $$ were added bonus.
Good Track - Generally Overrated
We played the Creek to Lake rotation at Eagles Landing using Club Corp’s member for a day program. This is a very nice golf club with above average practice facilities. The course seemed setup to play longer than the stated 6600 yards from the blue tees. Despite the unexpected length, I found the course to be very playable with adequate landing areas, manageable rough and decently maintained bunkers. The bent greens were slightly below average and seemed very worn. Most impressive is the layout which is visually interesting and requires some thought to play. This should be a 4-star facility, but falls short on the greens and its staff. I rated the staff 2 stars. The 2-star rating reflects both marginal service and inadequate (none) staff to manage play.
Good nine, but like Lake and Creek better.
Good layout with some nice holes. I like Lake and Creek nines better but this one is certainly good. Greens perfect but a tad slow. A good option if you are on the South side of Atlanta. Very nice clubhouse and staff. Fairways needed to be mowed but grass is good.
Nice option on South side
Very nice clubhouse and neighborhood. Course was wet from all the rain and fairways hadn't been mowed yet. When they are mowed, they should be great. Bent greens were excellent, maybe a touch slow, but in perfect condition. This 9 has a good bit of water in play. First 4 holes aren't too tough then the teeth come out with 6 and 8 being long par 4's that today were playing into a 20 mph wind. 9 heading up to the clubhouse is a memorable, good par 5. Play way right off the tee if you are into the wind.
