Amazing course
Played this course in early September and the course was beautiful. My dad is a member at El Rodeo and currently lives there. It was a little wet due to rainstorms. However the greens were still fast and firm. The course is challenging with lots of doglegs and elevation changes. No carts are available, so caddies are a must!
Beautiful Course in the Heart of Medellin
I played here as a guest in the Spring of 2021.
It is a fully private club in the center of the city of Medellin. From most holes you have views of the valley or nearby highrise buildings, which is a pretty unique experience in my opinion.
The club is gated, unless you are a guest of a member or your hotel has specifically arranged and confirmed a tee time, you will not be allowed to pass the front gate.
The course is essentially built on the western side of the valley so there are some substantial changes in slope throughout the round. Overall fun course to play with plenty of difficult / challenging shots throughout the round.
No carts, only caddies (which are ~$15). I highly advise taking a caddie since they are generally very helpful and know the course well (my caddie had been there for 15+ years as a caddie and was an 8 handicap himself).
If you are with a member and have time, definitely plan to use the other amenities. Pool, spa, steamroom / sauna, restaurant and bar, squash courts, full gym, etc. We had full massages after our round which were a nice way to end the afternoon!
The staff are incredibly nice and helpful, however if you do not speak Spanish you will have to be patient as very few of the desk staff / waiters speak English (this is a private club for wealthy Colombians who live in Medellin). English-speaking caddies are available, however.
The members are also very friendly and many of them speak English fluently, so if I had a question I felt comfortable asking them
Overall a nice round and beautiful facility located in the heart of a city of 5 million people - very unique experience!
