Spring Valley Golf Course

About
Spring Valley Golf Course is a public, 18-hole course that features a rolling, hilly terrain with stately Cottonwood trees that are over 75 years old sprinkled throughout. Designed by Ross Graves, the golf course took over three years to construct, which is understandable considering its elevation of 6400 feet and its hilly terrain. The course is 7,180 yards from its championship tees with a par of 72. Golfers will have to employ their short game for this course. Spring Valley Golf Course's signature hole is the 17th, which is a par-3 that requires a tee shot not only through trees but also over a creek that winds through the course. There is also plenty of wildlife, including rabbits, deer, and antelope, for those who enjoy animals.

Nice Course
Great, out of the way GC.
Grounds are kept well. Great layout. Challenging for my level of play. Definitely going back!
Great Staff.
Every staff member I encountered were very friendly. Course was in good shape. Give it a couple weeks should be better with better weather.
Opening Day
Scored a tee time on Opening Day! So, as you'd expect from a long lay-off without play - the course was in pretty good shape. Greens rolled very true, didn't have a bunch of pitch marks. Bunkers were raked too!
Hole #11 greens are aerated, but it was the only one. There were a few places on the course where the fairways had been aerated, seemingly to get a jump on the season.
After a 30 min frost delay, the course was busy, but we played the front 9 in 1 hr 50 min, the back-9 slowed down to 2 hrs 15 min. One group was having trouble keeping up with the group in front of them, but no marshal around to talk to them. It wasn't horrible, but did back things up. Once the older woman, who was walking, dropped out of the group - things picked back up. I enjoy the layout, there's lots of variation, particularly after the first 5 holes or so. Give it a try, it's in really nice early season shape!
Greens were sanded and fairways were fertilized, but course was in good shape
In good condition
Pace of play was good until we ran into a very slow 3 some…
Great time
Great time until the back where we encounter a parked cart. Woman was outride the cart takling on her phone! After approaching her she took off and we never saw her again. That slowed down our play! Then we encountered a man playing two balls which caused the group behind us to hit into us. I picked up on several holes to try and speed up our round! Other than that the course was in great shape considering the damage from the tornado! We will come back!
Issues on back 9
Had a an issue with a woman who parked her cart ahead of tee box but was not in the cart. On her phone walking around! Marshall was aware of her.
On the back we had a single in front of us playing more than one ball! While waiting on him the group behind us hit into us. Realize you can’t have eyes everywhere but it put a damper on our round!
It was a beautiful day and the course is great!
Punched greens with too much sand
This is a nice course and a good layout. That said it’s a bit far from and other courses in Denver/Colorado Springs area. I gave course conditions 1 star because they just punched the greens and put so much sand on them it was like putting through a bunker. Given the cinditions it was definitely not worth the price.
Pace and Staff
Took us 4 hrs to play 13 holes. Had to stop early bc it was playing so SLOW. Prepaid for a cart for 18 . I requested if I could take my own cart bc I might have to leave early. The non friendly staff said no I can’t. They charged me extra $11 for my own cart for the back nine. Never again will I play this golf course again.
Nice course!!!
Loved the course and layout. staff was friendly course in great shape. will be be back for sure.
Beautiful coarse
This course was in perfect condition. The sand was soft, greens were fast with very few imperfections. Fairways were perfect but rough was thick; stopped the ball instantly. Very little water hazards. I strongly recommend this course for its challenge and beauty.
