El Dorado at Quail Valley Golf Course

About
Developers eventually had their way with this cow pasture on the fringe of Houston. Loaded with native pecans and oaks and supplemented with even more transplanted trees, the terrain is ideal for golf, with two creeks and five natural lakes on the property. In fact, it's good enough to host the PGA Tour's Houston Open in 1973 and 1974.
The traditional El Dorado Course plays to a par 70 and features five par 3s that go 190-yards-plus from the tips. Jay Riviere designed the back nine.
Jeff Blume managed the redesign and complete renovation of the El Dorado Course in 2009.

Under Construction
The clubhouse and La Quinta are still very much under construction. However, El Dorado is in excellent shape. The greens, fairways, and tee boxes are the best in the area (public and within 20 miles), and I’m not sure it’s all that close.
Long gone
For the money greens could be better. Slow and bumpy .
Fairways might come back with warmer temperatures and rain i. Hope so .
THEY TREAT YOU CRAP IF YOU BOOK THRU GOLFNOW

Greens
Best greens for a public course in South Houston I’ e played this year !
Great afternoon round
Decided to slip away from the house and play a late afternoon round. being a single I was paired up with three others and couldn’t have asked for a better group to play with. the first few holes are challenging. one of the guys in the group Was three under after nine from the tips after about the third or fourth hole came to realize that he actually works there, his name was Terry Strickland, he is one of the pros. one of the nicest gentleman that I’ve had the chance to play golf with in a long time. Ben and Cooper made me feel welcome. Greens putted consistently true all day. Cart girl was very nice and came around about every hour. Love this place
Always Great
Although it has rained lately and cold, the course was still decent. Thx
Cold But Great Round
We really enjoyed playing today. Greens were great and the course was excellent!
Awesome golf
Course was in great shape as usual. Greens run true. You simply can’t go wrong playing a round here
Great course. Slow pace of play due to sister course being closed down.
The course conditions were very excellent with good greens and fairways. Only issue was pace of play. 3 1/2 hours thru 13 holes. I left after hole 14. Other than that the course was great. I definitely would recommend. Especially once they get the pace of play figured out.
El Dorado Still Great
No clubhouse and second course under construction. El Dorado still is a great layout.
