Worst course in the area
Terrible. Have played here a lot. No sand in bunkers, which is handy as there are no rakes. Terrible pace of play. Just a free for all on the first tee. Bar shuts at about 5 even in summer. Rude, aggressive customers who randomly add themselves on to your booking. Luckily there are at least 5 better courses in the area similarly priced. Don’t bother.
Needs improvement
This course could be very good but seems to be cutting corners. The course itself is fine, some quirks but fun to play although having an unprotected car park behind the 9th hole was an interesting design decision. £35 for a cart is too much, there needs to be better signage to each hole and the Arabic prayers blasting over nearby loudspeakers was very off putting (not your fault).
First thing you need to do though is chill your beer. Serving slightly cooler than room temp larger on a hot day is crazy!
Too pricey
Way over-priced for what this course is, Not kept to good standard at all, Mats were in very poor condition with the rubber tee's snapped. Lots of grounds under repair. Greens in awful condition. Not recommended, didn't see a single groundsmen maintaining the course, hence it's poor condition.
Mixed reviews
I enjoyed the course and could see potential in the summer, however paying £41 to play on slippery wet "clay" was not worth it.
The staff were super helpful, it's a shame about the cost and condition.
I would like to come back in summer as I can imagine it's a beautiful course.
Don't book here
Not for the first time, we arrived in plenty of time for our booking at 12.04 and were greeted with a huge queue on the first tee- eventually teeing off at 12.30. We then queued for at least 10 minutes on every tee. Despite the staff knowing they were running extremely late, no one was on course to ensure the pace of play was being met.
We finally finished 9 holes after 3 hours and left without finishing the round.
Decent Value Course
Played the course on a bank holiday Monday and took us 4:40 to get around which is slow for a 2 ball. Greens were in pretty good condition although a little slow but the fairways need a bit of attention as they were quite long and muddy. Tee markers were very tight which meant the teeing area was quite muddy due to the amount it was being used.
That being said for £32 it's hard to complain too much, the layout is relatively interesting and has some good holes, especially the Par 3s. You get what you pay for here so while I wouldn't go rushin back I can't complain too much.
Very poor condition course, the greens were neglected and the tees were brown in the main. Didnt look like the greenkeepers had been working much or they are very short staffed.
Considering the cost it was woeful and we could have paid more to play earlier. Gauges out of greens, not cut, not even. V V poor
Expensive for what you get
Settings are nice and the course is a good challenge however the course is kept in very poor condition and the greens are very poor with no real consistency. For £30 a round you’d expect more and can get a much better course condition near by
Greens poor conditions
Greens were predominantly full of holes from hollow tining treatment. No problem with that it’s just I would’ve liked to have been informed prior to playing as is custom. Having been informed I’d have probably asked for my money because playing on those treated greens is awful.
Poor form Addington:(
ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING COURSE!!!
I cant believe this place is still open…..fairways left long, bunkers not raked, tee boxes look like tee positions haven’t been moved in 6 weeks.no work done on fairways so completely boggy and unplayable.the greens were in reasonable condition for winter, only trouble is it’s so muddy on the fairways you have to putt through mountains of mud distributed from previous players shoes.it’s a shame to see this place go downhill so much.it use to be a great little course.this place should be shut through winter if no maintenance is being done.you’d be better off playing somewhere else close by and paying a little extra.no airline to clean buggy’s and shoes.thankfully a couple of groundsman let us use a hose to clean the trolleys off.will defo not be returning here again.even in the summer the greens are shocking as they don’t have irrigation.if you miss any greens on approaches you might aswel blob each hole….good luck trying to chip through mountains of sludge and worm casts….a little goes a long way but doesn’t even seem like they doing “the little”…,,I’m a retired groundsman and I know how easily this place could be kept up to standard….it’s a crying shame this little gem had deteriorated as much as it has….waste of money and time…..
Fallen from Grace
Unfortunately a course which has been left to deteriorate.
Tee boxes lumpy and bumpy and bald in places
Greens left a lot to be desired and were often damaged.
Rough particular green side was nearly a foot long which just appeared to be lazy course management
Used to be one of my favourite courses around now simply resembles a poorly maintained course which needs high investment to return to its former glory.
I would play pretty much anyone but here locally currently.
Awful condition. Avoid!!
Played here last summer and it was in good condition. Thought we’d play here again as it was still reasonably priced. I can see why now!!
Course was in horrendous condition. I mean its not like they haven’t had anyone play on it for the past 5 months is it!! They could’ve at least sorted the greens out but no. They were aerated and had divots and bobbles everywhere which made putting impossible. It was so bad it made Oaks Park look like The Belfry.
Don’t get me started on the abysmal state of tee boxes!!
Won’t be returning anytime soon.
Shocking golf club
The condition of this course is absolutely awful!! There are no fairways at all, long grass everywhere, looks like a farmers field... they are ripping people off by charging £32 for this terrible course. The pictures look nothing like the actual course... and when I complained i was told this is what ‘winter golf’ was like. On the second hole I rang the clubhouse and asked for a refund and too no surprise they said no. They obviously con people by the pictures, and also make sure people pay up front online so they can’t ask for refunds when they see the state of the course.
Quick twilight round...
I fancied a round after work and decided upon Addington court. Twilight round and trolly just 16 quid so happy with that. Held up briefly by a four ball, but played through... completed the round in 2 hours. Course in good condition, with the exception of the bunkers, could do with more sand and less stones .. greens in good order. As I hadnt played the course before I was unsure of where to go for each hole, I'd recommend the course putting up some additional signage. No ball cleaners on tee boxes. But all tee boxes at good standard. Not particularly challenging but a pleasure to play in the beautiful May evening.
Great Little Course
Nice little short 18 hole course, interesting holes. Course was VERY muddy and marked down amenities only because the air hoses were not working.
Sounds like a typical Crown Golf course
