Ridgeview Ranch Golf Club

About
Ridgeview Ranch is a Jeff Brauer design that opened in 1997. It’s friendly to the average golfer because there are rarely forced carries of water or sand to reach the large greens, making short approaches good candidates for easy ups and downs.
The design rolls through hills and trees, incorporating two creeks that come into play. The fairways are average-sized and flat, although there are a few surprising elevation changes for this flat part of north Texas. The course rolls through a housing addition and some of the holes are very tight.
Nos. 7 and 11 stand out in particular. The 7th goes 161 yards over White Rock Creek to a sloping green. No. 11 is tough because is plays well over 400 yards uphill into the prevailing wind.
Other notes: Carts are mandatory on weekends before 2 p.m. The cemetery next to the No. 3 green has graves dating back to 1800 and a historical marker to commemorate the settlers commissioned by Stephen F. Austin.
Getting there : From Dallas, travel north on the Tollway and exit Spring Creek. Turn right and drive 5 miles to Independence. Turn left and drive north to Ridge View Dr., then take a right and the course is on the left.

Pab4/1 review
Fairways still very bumpy. Greens starting to be taken over with poa annua
Typical public course
Although it was cart path only due to the rain the previous night, you can tell the course is in bad shape. Several greens had "grass bumps" growing on them so the putt was unpredictable and lots of areas without grass. Maybe a $50 course....
Course still needs a little work but overall and better shape than the years past staff has been working hard trying to get the course back in shape
Fun course
Course in good shape for the time of year. Staff is always very friendly and courteous. Great experience, thanks!
Decent but needs work
The layout of the course is pretty fun and challenging. However they need to water the fairways and tees more and definitely spray some weed killer on the greens!!! Many of the greens are getting Poa Annua weeds like they had a couple years ago. Some greens are ok but several are getting this weed again. The sand traps are fairly nice.
Out to pasture
Was in regular rotation until couple years ago. Decided to give it another try. Wow! What a train wreck. Such a great location and nice track but no grass (rough or fairway) weedy greens, ugly tee boxes. It’s just a shame. Might as well build houses and put it out of its misery. Wish they would revitalize this otherwise good spot to play.
Great round
Course in good shape for winter, greens fast and nice shape. Staff was very friendly.

Greens in good shape, folks started working to improve drainage. They also have rebuilt some sections of cart path . fairways still issue - very even
This is an amazing course
I just played this for the first time and I absolutely loved it. Played white tees. Course is super forgiving and has some unique layouts. The greens and fairways weren't PERFECT but had no issues playing. Putting was effected a little but I play for fun and had a blast. Keep in mind it's also winter and freezing outside and that could effect the course conditions as well. Would 100% play here again.
Good work on the course
Repairing cart paths, irrigation and draining . Tiptop
Top dressing greens. This course will be awesome in the spring!
Fast greens
This course has some serious drainage issues and carts are in terrible condition but if you enjoy an interesting layout and greens that are in good shape this course for the price is really really nice. We drive 30 minutes to enjoy this course. Play it!
