Belton woods lakes
Very challenging course..would like to play again..£25 good value and would play again at that price..important to be affordable
One to try
When the greens have healed ,this course will be a great place to visit . Just try and stay away from following a society . But overall a great way to spend an afternoon .
Jealous envious golfers/members
After a nice round a couple of weeks before, I decided to play again on Sunday and was met by fake coughs by jealous envious golfers in the car park. Then on each shot in the first 6 hole golfers and members and people near the lodges decided to fake cough and make loud bangs when I was swinging putting and hitting shots Infront of water. Good course (greens a little snakey around the hole but generally good) but full of jealous envious cheats that don't like the idea I am better than them. I wouldn't trust any handicaps at this course that's for sure. All guys in there 20s/30s might I add.
Always a treat (Top class venue)
Course always in good conditions (greens weren't amazing around the hole but it is a Saturday afternoon and February so it's to be expected anywhere really). Course in great conditions considering the time of year and weather.
No fake coughs or guys whacking balls at me when I'm about to putt or just after a birdie so it was quite a peaceful round for a change.
I didn't use the off course amenities but they look amazing.
Lakes Course ( don’t go )
Me and a friend played the lakes course on 09/11/24 and were both very disappointed and wouldn’t go back even if it was free ( we can both get this free through work on occasions ). The state of the course was really bad so much mud on the fairways and no first cut rough, so if you were just off a fairway was hard to find your ball as the rough was so thick. The only good things I can say is the greens were pretty nice.
The other big negative was the ridiculously slow play ( worst iv’e experienced ). We teed off at 12.12pm and thought we would easily have enough time to get round before dark. How wrong we were. We gave up after 15 holes as it was 4pm!!!!! We wasn’t the only ones there were several others doing the same. We played Market Rasen the week before teed off at 1pm and was done for 4.15 on a similar yardage course.
Last small gripe was the food costs a bacon and egg bun, with the smallest portion of chips and coke cost £16. It did taste nice but a bit overpriced.
Belton woods
The course was in great condition and the greens were quick and true, however when it came to having a coffee it was over priced and not much of it, when u pay for a cup of coffee u expect a cup not one that two thirds.
But the course and the pro were faultless.
Great greens
Lovey course and greens in great condition for this time of year. Still fast.
A pleasure despite recent weather
Heavy rain for week before, we played the lakes course.
Golf shop helpful and friendly
Only slightly boggy in places, greens were fantastic considering.
Food and beer after were fine
Would go again
27th-29th July 2024
Was meet on the first tee,by the very well informed chris.he explained the difficult holes ( that went obvious when standing on the tee).we had buggies on both course and wouldn't fancy walking the woods course after a good sociable drink.
Staff on reception were not to be seen when we came to check in.it took at least 15 minutes before we were delt with (29 golfers.
Overall the food was OK & the staff very helpful.
Great overall
Everything was great apart from the rough was extremely long and literally unplayable. Spoke to a member and he suggested that not enough green staff to upkeep due to cut backs. Rest of the course was in great condition.
Great condition for winter
Great condition for playing in winter but other than that a bit boring and flat
Belton Woods
Course conditions would definitely have been higher if it had been drier
To be fair we were lucky course was actually open we had booked the lakes course but that was closed due to all the rain fall
Staff did change our booking to the Woods course at our original teee time
We have been coming to Belton for the last 13 years and it doesn’t disappoint we will return next year
Great course
Course was a great challenge, long and plenty of water. Tres and greens in great condition but fairways very wet, had to move ball on every fairway and made the course extremely long to play. Good value, just try to avoid post heavy rain.
Well kept challenging course
Brilliant course well kept, very long! Needs some signs for direction felt ourselves looking around for next tee box on a few occasions. £40 for a buggy and we had to dry it and go and collect it ourselves!
Take plenty of balls! We had a brilliant day even if our golf game was a bit lacking
Father's Day Round
Lovely course, was like millionaires golf, 3pm Monday afternoon, hardly anyone else playing at that time.
Bar was cash only which was a pain and the food was over priced so we decided to eat on the way home.
It was good but could be better
We were a walking three ball following groups of four balls in buggies, we knew it would be a 4 hour round before we teed off, accepted that so no issues
The course was in reasonable condition and the fairways generous in width, however the rough was tall and wispy should you get into it
The greens were fine too and ran true
The only issue with the course from my perspective was the sand that was used in the some of bunkers, the little stones made it appear if sharp grit sand (building sand) have used. This definitely took away from the experience of returning to Belton Eoods and playing the Lakes.
Still would recommend the course though
