Excellent greens
Work going on continuously around the course but didn’t affect pace. Course in very good condition well worth more than what we paid.
Slow play
I was playing in a 2 player game and Unfortunately we had a four ball in front of us. They were obviously members as they were asking if we knew the course. They would not let us play through and were taking a long time looking for balls etc. At one hole they were still on the fairway 9 minutes after teeing off! Totally ruined our game and at hole 11 my friend and I had enough and walked off the course! Shame as it’s a really great course but simply ruined by slow play.
Great return
My second visit to this course and although it was in very wet conditions the course held up very, very well. Definitely will be returning.
Ring the bell.
Lovely course, quite hilly and plenty of blind shots. Greens were being tinned so that was unfortunate but they were still nice. The only thing that let this course down was the three members who were in front of us. They never rang any bells, never replaced divots or pitch marks and after finishing a particular hole they spent nearly 10 mins looking for a lost ball! (They left their clubs on the front of the green so we couldn't play through either).
I would definitely play again though.
Great Day
Arrived and able to get the pace of greens on large practice putting green which reflected th.e course..pro shop welcoming as was the lady behind the bar later. No waiting on the course which was in excellent condition, only a few bunkers were a bit light on sand in places (fortunately I avoided them). All had a fantastic day - it’s a tight undulating course which will punish you if you stray!
Very impressed
Played a 3 ball here, pace of play good, the course was challenging for me being a higher handicapper. A couple of blind holes that need careful planning and the course and greens were in great condition. Some nice par 3’s. Friendly staff in the the club house and shop, very enjoyable
Great winter course
Good friendly course. All greens in play but work was carried out on holes 6&7 but course had 2 par 3 to cover this. For a winter knock after work was just fine. Will be playing again soon
Hidden Gem of the North East
Visited this great course today and couldn't fault it at all for early November. Although the fairways are quite open the course throws up many challenge's. It's quirky layout is an absolute delight and I particularly liked the par 3's. There are plenty of uphill and downhill holes which challenge's your thinking game on club selection etc. I'd highly rate this course and recommend it to golfers of all levels.
First class course
A hidden gem in the middle of the town .felt like you were on the Cleveland hills . The fairways and greens were in perfect condition. However a hilly ,long course for those not totally fit .
Great Condition
Good course in great condition. Fairways hard and fast, greens receptive. Course was quiet, 2 ball took 2 hours 50 minutes
One of the best
Billingham course easy to reach , the course although could be to hilly for some gives you a challenging game, seeming open fairways on some holes but hidden slopes that send balls running left or right to the light rough, played this a few times and enjoy it every time.
Great course and condition was perfect played on a hot day was glad of the fountain on the tenth great touch greens fantastic only down side bunkers lack off sand
Good course but disinterested staff.
Very disappointed with the pro's attitude to us as guests paying through GolfNow. No welcome or discussion around why we had chosen the course. We were told we were to play with a gent in a buggy as he had booked the same deal and did not introduce us or offer scorecards. Just felt a rude welcome to the club.
Enjoyable round
Great course, friendly and helpful pro with a welcoming club house to finish....what more could you ask for!
Very pleasant course
Enjoyable challenge. Some water hazards but not ridiculous. Narrowish but perfectly reasonable fairways. Subtle and well protected greens more than compensate for lack of length.
A challenge!
Course always in good condition. Parkland course and visually very attractive. Better than 3 hours work in a gym!
Staff always pleasant, and helpful, especially Mike in the shop.
COURSE IN GREAT CONDITION
Challenging and interesting holes. The course is a bit hilly, but buggies are available. Would recommend and will certainly play here again.
Hidden Gem
Really enjoyable course, well worth a visit. Staff and members very friendly, course in great condition. Will definitely return.
Lovely course 2 play well looked after, they is some up n down hills to walk but they always buggys there if needed
