This is a lovely seaside course in North Cornwall
I have played this course several times and always enjoyed it. It's not too long but has a challenging and interesting lay out. Even this early in the season the greens were excellent.
The only minor criticism was that we were on some temporary tees and some of these were not that easy to find.
Not for learners.
Tough in windy conditions and several holes require guidance on where to aim with plenty of blind shots if your out of position.
Lots of bunkers to avoid but little water.
I wouldn't recommend this course to a new golfer as a few of tee shots have the added hazards of nearby roads and multiple public footpaths.
The pro shop seemed well stocked & the changing rooms have decent showers.
Unfortunately I didn't have time to visit the bar but the outside terrace looked very nice.
Overall, recommended.
Tough Course, use your oldest balls!
I confess this was my first ever links course, and while the course itself was in exceptional condition, the layout was for me, (26.2Hcp) far too challenging.
There are, from memory, 5.holes that require blind shots. So playing this for the first time you have no idea what lies beyond the markers.
Play it, then play ot again and after your 5th round you will be in a much better position to put in a good round.
Don't let my inadequacy dissuade you.
I would add some photos but the app won't allow me.
Play this course
Fantastic course , great conditions , best bunkers and greens anywhere. Plenty of scenic holes, make sure you get a good score by the first 9 holes as it then gets harder
Good course
I have played here regularly at this time of year and course and greens are always in good condition. The only issue I had this year was slow play as I, and my playing partner, were stuck behind four fourballs leading to the round taking over 5 hours. No fault of anyone, just bad timing
Fantastic Bude
Great links course. Great condition especially the greens which were pretty quick and challenging undulations. Really enjoyed our round and were fortunate that it was a calmish day. Would recommend and certainly return.
Great links course
Bude and North Cornwall GC is a seaside links course that provides interesting challenge at all levels of ability, particularly when windy. There are some blind tee and approach shots that can undo the unwary! For this reason, newcomers can struggle - acquiring a course planner is recommended - and this can affect the pace of play on busy days. However, repeat visits are very rewarding and Bude has become one of my favourite places to play. Friendly, welcoming staff, great clubhouse with a well stocked 19th, outside/inside seating area. Practice area, putting green and driving net. Buggies and trolleys available - booking buggies early is recommended.
Holiday round
A really good test of golf on an interesting course. As a first time player, it was sometimes hard to know where you were heading, despite the market posts. The weather on the day (wind and rain) made it tough but still enjoyable. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area.
Difficult course with beautiful views
Having turned up we were informed shortly before our tee off time that behind us would be multiple teams playing in the county competition. The first nine holes were playing lovely although difficult with the lack of guiding from hole to the next, the back nine we were then pushed by the said teams which we couldn’t let through, which was a shame as before booking there was no information that the tournament was due to be going around at that time. Overall it’s a lovely course but does need to improve with guidance and signage to the next holes.
