Burghill Valley Golf Club

A really tricky course with some long testing holes. Adjusting to the speed of the greens was also a nice challenge. Ideal for beginner golfers who are looking to test themselves on a well kept and well respected course.

We had played Burghill 5 years ago and we’d remembered how well cared for the course was and had been determined to return.
We were really disappointed with the condition of the fairways, worm casts everywhere, not a dry lie on the fairways, so much mud on the trolley wheels, shoes and clubs it was unheard of in late summer. Been told by the members in the clubhouse that the fairways had been cut really early in the season and this had prevented growth in the summer hence the wet and muddy fairways and the absence of thick healthy grass. The greens were good and well maintained even though they were wet, I did struggle to find grass to place my ball on at one point as this ruling was in place to combat the poor fairways. The green staff really need to improve the fairways before we would return such a shame.

If you are a good golfer this course will prove a bit unimaginative and uninspiring. It has two very short opening par fours and a short finishing par four. If you are looking for a challenge near Hereford I would recommend the Herefordshire (Wormsley)

I will remember this golf course very well especially that I made ace on 3 rd hole . Lovely place with good greens and fairways.Didn’t expected too much for price what i’ve paid but I was nicely surprised.

Having got a hot deal for this course, I was very happy with my deal.

On arrival at the well equipped pro shop, I got a friendly welcome and guidance on the course geography. I was also advised that the greens were starting maintenance and would be slow and bumpy -they were OK though.

The course was quite quiet, my only hold ups were where the green staff were working and I had a number of apologies for holding me up! But that just enabled me to enjoy the scenery.

All in all, it was well worth the visit and I'd like to return,

First time here. We were limited on time so did not take in the clubhouse facilities. The pro shop was well stocked and staff very helpful and friendly. We found the course to be fairly tight in places but well laid out. Each tee had yardage and basic hole plan which helped. We tee’d off at 11:45 on Monday and it was fairly quiet. Greens were quite quick even though a little soft due to recent weather. We were sometime after a ladies match but never held up at all. I would recommend this course.

For time of year course was in good conditions and greens quite fast.

I am regular visitor - the course and clubhouse have been upgraded making it a excellent place to visit. Staff and hospitality is excellent.frienfly and good and drink sensibly priced.

What a lovely course, we arrived at around 8am in the morning with a tee times booked for 8.42, after a quick look around the pro shop (well stocked and well presented) we were offered to tee of 15 minutes early which worked well for us.

The course played very well, the green were lightning and the mixed of long par 5's, short to mid par 3's and the reachable in 2 par 4's were fantastic, the rain set in after about 2 hours which did in areas leave a lot of surface water on the greens which did cause some issues but all the enjoyably still.

The club house was well kept and the lady that served us behind the bar was very friendly, If I hadn't eaten some food on my way around I would have ordered some from the clubhouse as it smelled lovely.

All in all a great course and great setting.

We played here as we have moved back ti the area and are looking for a club to join , we played here years ago and the difference now was amazing ,we really enjoyed it very friendly and in first class condition fair to say we will probably be joining

Really great flat course that challenges you on your skill not your fitness. There are lots of points where locals cut holes out and end up slowing you down by jumping in front, but other than that it's an excellent course.

Great course in terrific condition. Some really interesting holes but watch out on 16th green as a fox may appear from the bushes and make off with your ball...I have the video evidence!
