Great course… however a little pricey

Big fan of the course it is in good condition for how bad it can get in the rain, my only gripe is the £40 playing fee as I believe it isn’t as good as others in the area that are either cheaper or at the same price (Tyneside/dunstanburgh, for example).

Honestly around £30-32 would be the perfect price point, Tyneside is at £35 and in my opinion is a better course than city of Newcastle but city is lovely and will definitely play it again in the future.

Wet days golf

I liked this course , plenty of different types of holes wide and narrow fareways. Course was what I expected after recent storms wet but still playable

Marvellous Course

Lovely walkable/scenic parkland course in beautiful condition. Spotted a few deer who were totally unfazed!!!
Really helpful pleasant pro (Steven), plus the members were a delight (true Geordies man). First time here, but can't wait to return 🏌🏾‍♂️

Nice course

Nice course that really wouldnt take much to make it a fantastic course. Bunkers are scruffy with weeds and paths are not cut. For a golf course thats over subscribed and a waiting list to join this course should be in a much better condition aesthetically. Guessing thats the difference between a £875 a year membership and a 2k membership at close house for example.

Fun Friday

Lovely course, not over taxing by way of layout, a relaxed stroll with some nice holes. Quite a well used course, only held up over the final two holes which was no big deal

Poor course information

I’ve played this course a number of times and on a good day it’s a lovely round. However, the four of us arrived on a beautiful morning at the very end of March. All buggies and trolleys were off despite no advanced warning - this had been the case for some time. All 18 holes has winter greens and winter tee boxes despite the course being dry and in good condition. We were told it was due to a frost in the morning at 6am! We played at 11am and the weather was excellent. The next day when I drove pat in the pouring rain the green flags were up. Beggars belief really. A shame to pay full price with this in mind and even more of a shame as the four of us had waited a long time to play together. Spoiled by very precious green keepers!

A few issues, but overall good.

Tee off was 8.13 am, we arrived at 8.00. No club shop open or any of the amenities. We just had to go out and play (as advised by a fellow player) with no score card or general chat about specific rules etc. A little disappointing as this was our first time playing this course.

The course was in decent shape for the time of year. Probably not worth the money, given the poor service upon our arrival.

Nice ,always like playing here

Lot of restrictions on blue rope around the greens ,,,,couldn’t take trolley inside ,,, beside that ,,,loved the course ,
Wondered why the city hadn’t updated its winter card on England golf for handicapping ,,,,

Nice to be back

I used to be a member here and thought I’d have round to see if I could improve on previous rounds as a better player now. Unfortunately it was on winter greens and tees as we had a bitter frost on the morning which was a bit disappointing, however I was contacted by the pro shop well before my round to tell me this, I couldn’t re-schedule so had to play. Thumbs up to the place for letting me know what was happening. It still was a test with some challenging holes, the greens looked like they would be great in the season and the course itself was in good condition apart from a few rough areas where heavy traffic has been in the winter. Was a mid afternoon time so had the course to myself. Will definitely be back in the summer for another round on the proper course.
