Cottesmore Hotel Golf & Country Club - Griffin Course

Played a 2 ball at 4:06, we were doubled booked and had to tee of earlier unfortunately. Course is a very nice lay out and despite being booked up in the afternoon the pace of play was very nice. Few challenging holes and greens, the 17th is a lovely par 3 over a lake, definitely one of the highlights of the course. There’s a few holes were the mud has formed into lumps and therefore the ball tends to bounce in very random ways if the ball hits them of course, so this was slightly annoying. The only bad thing to say really was the greens could use a bit of love, few greens with divot like patches, but of grass regeneration and water wouldn’t hurt. Overall though good value for money at £24 pp!

Coarse not in very good shape. Didn’t land on anything that you would consider fairway on any hole. Very patchy. Greens below average.

Played golf today 1st game since lockdown course disappointing not at its best .Give it a month and it will be back to its best

THis is a good course and is usually in very good condition but the rain has been tipping down for 2 days so surprised that still opened and other still playing. Most greens had standing water but still "playable". Well I certainly played on. You wouldt think with so much rain it would be muddly. Well not really. Waterproof trousers quite dirty but nothing on bottom of shoes. Love the layout and the variety of holes. Only downside is that it is attached to a Hotel , small but still visitors have the majority of the "good" tee times. Most probably won't be visiting now until the spring

Stunning course, in excellent condition especially as Monsoon Mabel only passed thru overnight. Friendly staff always helps, only gripe was the pace of play a couple of groups ahead which is where I think course Marshall’s would be useful but 100% going back in the new year. LOVED IT

Interesting layout and some challenging holes. Autumn maintenance to tee boxes had just been carried out and will make a big difference, so good to see investment. Greens very good and fast.
Some fairways showing hard summer wear but should recover. Loads of trees have been planted to add cover between holes and add more interest.
Staff all very friendly and all well Covid protected. Good value food and drink. Service was quick.

They are making a huge effort to get the whole set up back to full swing after the disastrous fire a few years ago. Health Club busy. Golf course busy and car park full so think they are doing well.

Played this for the first time and one of the most interesting courses around with done stunning holes. Rewards good tee shots but punishes the bad ! Greens were quick and true.

Only criticism is a few of the tee boxes were very poor but this was only an extra issue as I don’t use a tee generally unless it’s a driver

Food after was excellent

excellent course. Will definitely be back to play again.
