A challenge little course

I recently played at Docking Golf Course, a 9-hole course set in a picturesque, hilly terrain. The landscape, as seen in the photo, offers a scenic backdrop with rolling greens and a cozy clubhouse overlooking the course. However, my experience on the course itself left much to be desired.
The course is undeniably challenging, which could appeal to golfers looking for a test of skill. The hilly terrain adds a layer of difficulty, and the fairways are consistently narrow across all 9 holes, demanding precision with every shot. I played twice, hoping the second round might feel more manageable, but the layout remained tough and unforgiving.
Unfortunately, the course condition was a major letdown. The fairways and greens were not in great shape—patchy in spots and poorly maintained overall. The photo shows some of this wear, with visible patches on the green and a generally unkempt appearance. For a course with such a challenging design, better upkeep would make the experience far more enjoyable.
The clubhouse and surrounding area looked inviting, but the course itself didn’t live up to expectations. Given the condition and my overall experience, I don’t plan to return. I’d rate Docking Golf Course a maximum of 3.5 stars—decent for a one-time challenge, but not worth a repeat visit until improvements are made.

Great course for a 9 hole

Love the 6am start time, perfect for getting a 9 hole in before work. The course and greens are always in a good condition, lots of wildlife everywhere. Seriously enjoyable course

Super greens

Lovely 9 hole course with different tees on the back 9. Stunning views across Surrey into Sussex towards Gatwick.
Greens are very slopy in places but lovely to putt on. Tough par 3s. Course is very hilly so if you want a flat walk this is not the place.
Great value for money
