Fun course, lots of challenges

The course is fantastic, especially when you have it to yourself as we did.

If you don't though, it could be stressful, as the holes often cross and intertwine with greens very near to tee boxes.

Its very hilly and errant shots are punished by lost balls but also very tired legs.

Greens were fairing very well considering the time of year, no temporary ones. A couple of tees were mats but all easy to get a tee into.

Noticed on the way out the had a net setup which I'd not seen before, and the practice green is on the small side but ok to get sorted.

The club house is dated and tired, but the pro shop are reasonably friendly.

Not bad but has its issues.

This is a very very hilly course. You cannot rent trolleys as they have none and very limited number of buggies. Apart from that it’s not bad. Just wished they were more equipped for the time of course it is.

Fairways ok but first cut too long as ball nestled down making a difficult course a struggle

Unreal course… for me

Loved it. Great course with lovely staff.
The course it’s self is very up and very down, literally. 250yard par 4 which you wouldn’t reach with a 280 yard carry. A couple holes feel like your playing off a cliff edge. For me, I’m happy for the walk, happy for a long round, happy to stretch the legs.. loved it. If you like an interesting course but haven’t got the legs get a buggy, but play here!
Best advice for a decent golfer is Look at the fairway makers from the tee box….and commit!

Walked

Dudley Golf Course

Quite an Up and Down course, very steep in some places, with a few blind Tee shots and second shots.

Nice first visit

Excellent welcome by staff member pointing out need to enter car registration along with a couple of course pointers in regards to a couple of the holes. Excellent pace of play two ball completed in around 3 and a half hours helped by a courteous four ball letting us play through. Nice fairways decent greens (quick). Opportunity to get half decent score wide fairways if you lose a ball probably deserve to lose it 😂. Reading reviews prior to booking mentioned course was hilly and they weren’t wrong but offered decent views of surrounding area and gave hamstrings a good workout. Did hear shout of fore more often than normal not sure if layout partly to blame for this and we did have close shave when wayward ball landed between us missing by inches. Enjoyed round would happily return.

Much improved.

Bit busy to start, pace of play was good after 3 or 4 holes. Lots of blind shots and a bit hilly in places. Didn't really play that well today but still enjoyed the round. Greens were good as were the fairways. Very good value for money. Lovely day, good views of surrounding area.

Very impressed!

Upon pulling up into the car park my first thoughts were, this is not going to be a very good course at all! I was completely wrong. Tee boxes, fairways and greens all kept very well with no muddy spots and the ball doesn't just plug upon impact of the greens or fairways.

Navigating around the course layout is a bit challenging being the first time playing at this course but looking at the score card map you can get around without playing the wrong hole/fairway.

Speed of play was not even a concern. Nobody in front, nobody behind my entire round but this was a Friday mid-day tee time so may differ on weekends etc but managed to get a single ball full 18 holes in around 2 ½ - 3 hours regardless of the course being quite up and down. If you are a walker, electric trolley would be best or buggy as it is quite hilly as others have reviewed but plays some amazing approach shots onto the greens.

Overall compared to some of my local 'Luxury' golf courses they claim to be, this absolutely trashed their reputation on all aspects of grounds keeping with fantastic tee boxes, fairways and greens. Will definitely be returning and really enjoyed my round!

Decent course and club

The course is challenging in areas. Friendly locals. The Pro, James, is excellent and a wealth of knowledge. Very hilly course so would definitely rent a buggy if you can afford to. A club that I’d potentially join. Well looked after but not pristine. People need to repair their divots and pitch marks but can say that about lots of courses. Overall I’d recommend. Some interesting holes.

Really enjoyable

Seems a lot of money has been spent on the course in the last few years having been speaking to people about the course. Not a long course but very tricky and hilly! Spectacular views (of Dudley) and surrounding but on a cold day will be open to the elements being so high!! Throughly enjoyed it with nearly every hole different! Will return that’s for sure!!

Tricky, needs improvement.

Whilst away a group of us played this course. Very tricky due to how hilly it is. Nearly every tee shot is a blind tee shot. Alot of the holes cross with other tee boxes which is a concern if it was busy.

The greens had been treated so really bumpy which we hadnt been told.
