Good course poor greens

We have played this course before, it’s a nice course but this time the greens were in very poor condition.

Good layout but in really poor condition

I have played the course a few times before but I will never play it again in the winter months, fairways and semi rough where like mud forever looking for balls this in turn caused people in front to play slow, it took nearly 5 hours to get round , my brother travelled from Bishop Stortford to play golf over the weekend we played Cleckheaton on the Friday and there was no comparison I think you need to go there and get some tips on how a course should kept

Good Condition for Winter Golf

We played our first round of the year on 8th February 2025 and the course was in good condition overall, considering the time of year. The course wasn't as boggy as expected and most lies were comfortably playable. There were a couple of temporary tee mats where a few tee boxes had been returfed, but overall a good experience and fairly similar overall to the summer golf experience.

Played 7 holes and left

Lost 3 balls in the fairway because the grass was like playing out of the rough. Ended up leaving after 7 holes and finding another course to play. Such a shame because the cafe and staff were amazing.

Overpriced

I've played here many times over the past decade or so.
Never have I paid £34 and been so disappointed with the state of the course. Being October the greens were in fair condition. Tee boxes were over grown, muddy, undeveloped and rough. Fairways were boggy and one had tractor tracks across it. Won't be returning I'm afraid.

Rushed

Went to Duxbury golf course this morning, was going OK until the 5th hole when we had someone from the office on a buggy come to tell us to hurry up. If you want a relaxing game of golf I definitely wouldn't recommend. Also if your starting out I wouldn't recommend.
Had a 3 players behind us hitting balls at us on the 3rd hole when we where on the green. We left after the 11th hole because we felt bullied off the course. Really a bad experience overall.

Excellent course

Cheapest course in my area for a round but plays like it could be one of the more expensive courses, brilliant staff and a brilliant lay out. Never had an issue playing here

Duxbury Park,

Not played this course for many years and it didn’t disappoint.
Nice condition with some challenging holes.
Some bunkers had some work in progress but this didn’t disappoint the game.

Good Course

Played on a Saturday so it was busy but pace of play was pretty decent.
Course was in good condition, a couple of wet patches but for the weather we’ve had that’s to be expected.
Greens were excellent and the guy in the shop was really friendly and helpful 👍

Excellent course for beginners

In honesty I'm far from a great player but this course doesn't feel intimidating. Fairways feel like wide enough not to panic and the greens are a fair size. There are plenty of hazards if you go a stray through.

Overall a really good course

I’m going back this weekend

I really enjoyed my time here. Staff were great on check in. Practice nets, practice green and a top tracer range (a few minutes walk). The tee boxes could do with a little work as most are not very flat, so you need to choose your driving position wisely. The course overall was in good condition. It was the first round of the season after a winter of constant rain, so the ground was soft and several balls were lost due to plugging on the fairway. Pace was slow at times, however almost every tee time was booked with 4 ball groups. The Cafe at the end serves hot drinks, cold drinks and alcohol, as well as food and snacks. The shop is good for last minute balls, gloves etc.

Recommend playing in summer but as a course it can’t really hold rain well. Too wet and very boggy

Fiver and a half hours of slipping and sliding in mud.

Played once before many years ago but this was a real shock. Tee’s scruffy uncared for. Fairways long grass, bunkers a disgrace, greens a neglected mess . Play was so slow as they allowed five balls to play. If we hadn’t been a group of twenty two trying to play a competition we would like the players in front of walked in. The whole place had no redeeming feature. SO WHERE HAVE THESE GOOD REVIEWS COME FROM.

Could not agree more with the fellow golfer. Playing the same course same day same unplayable in places holes, meeting other golfers all charged different prices up to £10 DIFFERENCE ,members being allowed to just jump in even when tee times were booked, the course on thar day and since should have been closed, seems like money over matter, spoilt what should of been a great presidents day out.
