Unbelievable.
Wasn’t expecting much because of the price but what can I say. Perfect course for beginner and advanced players. Lovely fairways and lovely greens. Definitely one of my top 5 courses in Gloucestershire to play and unbeatable green fees.
Great Course
Was blown away by the course and price, Pro was really helpful and kind. Course was great and well maintained, greens were challenging but fun to play, bunkers were well maintained and played more like summer bunkers than winter bunkers. All in all great day out and would recommend to anyone visiting the area.
Value for money
All greens were in play and the course was in a really good condition after a few days of dry weather . Amazing value for money
Good course and a tasty breakfast, just a long day
A nice course, set in a beautiful woodland, with natural ponds and streams to add to the mix. Course considering the rainy weather in recent weeks was payable. 2 holes were closed, but provisions were made to play the 1st and 18th again, so you could still get your full round in. 1 temporary green with a larger whole to compensate was a bit rubbish, but that’s winter golf for you. The only frustration was the significant delay at the 1st tee off area., followed by an exceptionally slow round of golf, two people playing should not take 5 hours 15 minutes to complete the round. Slow play from the womans members team, that seamed to be slotted in last minute , looks like they forgot about them while organising the days booking slots and added them in irrespective of anybody’s tee time slots combined with not being able to play through, due to so many 4 balls in front made it a long day.. at least the half way hut was open and gave us clarity on the delay as the pro golfer in the shop, didn’t provide much insight, I think he was the reason for everybody's delay. But I would play again for sure, friendly staff, nice food and this will be a cracking course in the spring.
Nice course
Nice woodland course in pretty good condition considering the recent weather
Good course, good condition for mid Winter
Good course layout, with winter tee areas good to play off. Bunkers all raked and for winter good sand. Greens a tiny bit slower but it’s winter, no flooding and nothing water logged. This course will be great in the spring and summer and offers a good game in the winter
Great day out
Really nice course, great facilities and only 45 minutes from Bristol ..
We will be returning
Brilliant round of golf
Course in fantastic condition for January all bunkers in great conditions, fairways and greens all very good
Well worth a visit…
Ironically I live opposite the course, but haven’t played for a long time, this was my first outing for 8 years.
Friendly welcome when we arrived, which is always nice especially since I think we were the only people there as the weather was so bad, (which incidentally was the reason for the 4* on course conditions). We were very lucky as it literally stopped raining as we reached the first tee. Suffice to say it was very boggy underfoot, nevertheless we had a good round and we both really enjoyed the course, well worth a visit and hopefully I’ll get back to playing more regularly…
Absolute bargain
I paid £8.99 for the full 18 holes, I only got to play 16 as 12 & 13 were not open, but the guy at the pro shop said I could play an extra few holes to make up for them being closed. The course was in incredible shape for the middle of January, and greens were surprisingly fast. Some boggy areas under foot but honestly I'm not going to complain.
Also a shout out to the guy in the pro shop (sorry I forgot your name), for allowing me to borrow a club wrench and sort my driver out before I started my round.
For the price this course is a MUST!
Enjoyable day out again at Bells
Rain held off on the day and the course was well maintained with grass being cut regularly and great condition greens. Booking process was great via Golf now and course were happy to change our play date without a charge when we made an error, which is more than other courses have done. Had to play off temporary tees however to protect the main tees, which was not ideal, but understandable and otherwise a great value day out - its a shame its not nearer to bristol for us.
Great value for winter golf
Considering time of year the course was very playable but long grass off fairways made hard work for senior golfers (my wife and I).
A tight course with some crossovers where care is needed. Virtually all tees were on mats which shortened the course.
However being able to get out and play at such good value was a bonus.
Improved / Compact course
The course has improved a lot since last played 2 years ago. Fairways in good condition. The course is very compact with lots of fairways right next to each other, this causes a lot of crossing in front of the tees. Pace of play was slow today due to lots of societies. If you can get the course for a cheap price then I’d recommend but i would not pay full price.
