Flat parkland back and forth but good greens
Flat parkland course with a few interesting holes but had the overriding feeling of back and forth. Some huge greens and in good condition, a number of the holes had muddy fairways even though little recent rain. Course being spiked, very slow players even though midweek.
Considering the freezing conditions the course was in great condition. Well kept open fairways, greens in good condition
The course is on an open common so look out for the locals
Staff in pro shop and club house were really friendly and made us feel welcome
Brilliant as always
Arrived in the pro shop to be welcomed by a big smile. We were told to go to the first whenever we were ready no tee times which I actually really liked. Had a good warm up on the putting green and short game area, then off to the first no one was waiting so we went straight off.
The fairways were brilliant and the greens very true for this time of year.
No one caught us and we never caught whoever was infront, so no pressure or hold ups.
The 18th is a short par 3 in front of a busy clubhouse which was a nice way to end.
The food was brilliant and the beer was welcomed after the round.
I will be back soon
Easy walking, friendly course
This course is about as flat as you can get and is very easy to walk.
Whilst shortish with what looks like a simple layout, you need to think your way round.
The greens are some of the best, true and around 11 on the stimp with lots of subtle breaks.
Part of the course is on common land, so you need to be wary of dog walkers etc, and half the course on private land.
There is a nice varity of holes and is fun to play and whilst there is rough, keeping the ball within a reasonable distance from the fairway, you should find your ball.
Nice clubhouse with good and sensibly priced food and drinks and the terrace overlooking the 18th green is stunning.
