First time at Hever Castle
Friendly staff. Reasonable layout.
Front 9 especially 2-5, were not in the best of condition, Sandy and fairways cut up.
All holes off mats and some holes, like the 17th, were much shorter.
Some lovely par 3s over water.
Lovely club house and staff very welcoming - nice breakfast.
My golf day
A lovely golf course cracking lay out unfortunately the course was so wet.on one fairway the course was so wet there were dead worms all over the fairway maybe the 6th 7th or 8th and the smell was terrible.i would say the course wasn't playable lots many balls in the fairway just plugging and burying.would I go back yes only in the summer just unfortunate experience I guess
Fantastic course
Great all round course… challenging but fair with it. Greens were in fantastic condition, along with the rest of the course.
Great Course
Played it in 32° weather after weeks of good weather, was expecting burnt out fairways but it couldn’t be purer. Highly recommend.
Hever Castle
Excellent golf course, excellent conditions and lovely people
Great course but not really playable in the winter or wet season!
Overall fairway conditions are quite bad, very patchy and sludgy! We felt the extra weight on our shoes before we finished hole 1! Greens are reasonable for winter golf but most people walked into it before us with the mud on their shoes and left plenty of it in the green which made it very messy and difficult to put properly. Won't be playing here again in the winter! There are drier courses that you can enjoy a proper round of golf nearby.
Hever
Not for the faint hearted but a great course when it’s dry
Great Course
We played as a four ball today. We played the Championship course which is a very good course with some very challenging but very fair holes. The course is well maintained and all the staff were both friendly and helpful. We will definitely be playing a round there again.
Slow round at Hever
The course was lovely as usual. The round was spoilt by a group who obviously hadn't played a lot of golf and didn't know anything about golf etiquette. Round took over 5 hours.
Great test of golf
Course was in fantastic condition, greens top class , if your after a challenge, consider Hever 10/10
Great course, great value
I enjoyed playing this course very much. A great variety of holes and a real test for any golfer, bring your “A” game. £30 represented great value too. I shall definitely return.
Just fabulous
We had just about as wet a week as is imaginable, however the coarse although wet in parts played lovely.Top class coarse and the greens were lightning, loved it .
Stunning parkland course with several nice water features. 11-13 has an Amen Corner-type feel. Halfway hut serving chorizo sausage rolls a must! Only downer was slow play, four and a half hrs for a twoball shocking caused by ignorant 4ball three groups ahead. They have a first tee starter but no course marshal which could have helped solve problem. Played mid-november and already winter tees in operation so perhaps not a great choice for winter golf. Overall a superb club.
Great day's golf
Very welcoming pro shop and hospitality in the bar was good. Course on great condition despite recent heavy rain and a challenging layout . Greens especially good, we had a great round and enjoyed playing a different course for the first time.
