Patchy, but worth a visit
A mixture of some wonderful holes (start of the back nine in particular) and quite a bit of filler. Pretty as a picture throughout. In not great condition (fairways especially), but really good range, practice areas, and off course facilities.
Absolutely Stunning
I don’t know why I haven’t payed here before, it’s always been on my list of courses to play and it certainly did not disappoint.
Even though I didn’t have my best round of golf the layout and course conditions were amazing.
The 11th, 12th & 13th holes are something a bit special.
Can’t wait to come back again.
Not for the faint hearted, especially the 17th
Excellent Greens
Really enjoyed the Championship Course at Hever Castle GC. I'd not played there for over ten years and it was a treat to return. The greens were in truly excellent condition however the fairways do need some work following the very wet conditions earlier in the year.
£38 was a fair price but this was a weekend twilight rate. Not sure I'd pay much more for the course given the fairways.
One slight negative was finding the halfway hut closed at the turn. This always disappoints me as it really adds to the experience and is an easy money maker for the club.
End of Qtr golf day at Hever
Long but lovely course! Been around 10yrs since I played here but it was a great day for a team golf day - wonderful setup these days, and thankfully the weather was kind! 🌞
First time at Hever Castle
Friendly staff. Reasonable layout.
Front 9 especially 2-5, were not in the best of condition, Sandy and fairways cut up.
All holes off mats and some holes, like the 17th, were much shorter.
Some lovely par 3s over water.
Lovely club house and staff very welcoming - nice breakfast.
Very decent course in good condition
The course was in pretty good condition, but like most courses it seems the fairways are struggling a bit with the dry weather, they were a bit patchy in places so we played preferred lies… the greens were in really good shape, fast and firm. The layout was good for someone who has never played the course, not many blind holes… back 9 was more interesting than the front.
Good value for money at £45 but £38 better suits the level, not sure if rush back to play again but glad I played it.
My golf day
A lovely golf course cracking lay out unfortunately the course was so wet.on one fairway the course was so wet there were dead worms all over the fairway maybe the 6th 7th or 8th and the smell was terrible.i would say the course wasn't playable lots many balls in the fairway just plugging and burying.would I go back yes only in the summer just unfortunate experience I guess
Fantastic course
Great all round course… challenging but fair with it. Greens were in fantastic condition, along with the rest of the course.
Great Course
Played it in 32° weather after weeks of good weather, was expecting burnt out fairways but it couldn’t be purer. Highly recommend.
Hever Castle
Excellent golf course, excellent conditions and lovely people
Great course but not really playable in the winter or wet season!
Overall fairway conditions are quite bad, very patchy and sludgy! We felt the extra weight on our shoes before we finished hole 1! Greens are reasonable for winter golf but most people walked into it before us with the mud on their shoes and left plenty of it in the green which made it very messy and difficult to put properly. Won't be playing here again in the winter! There are drier courses that you can enjoy a proper round of golf nearby.
Hever
Not for the faint hearted but a great course when it’s dry
Great Course
We played as a four ball today. We played the Championship course which is a very good course with some very challenging but very fair holes. The course is well maintained and all the staff were both friendly and helpful. We will definitely be playing a round there again.
