About

Holes 18
Type Semi-Private
Par 72
Length 7012 yards
Slope 139
Rating 74.2

Old Bear Creek meanders through the rolling terrain of Timarron, highlighting this par 72, 7,012-yard Byron Nelson/Finger Dye Spann design. The tree-lined fairways wind toward large, undulating greens that are considered faster than most.

The front offers the best birdie opportunity with the 185-yard No. 3. The signature hole is the last: a 540-yard downhiller that plays into the prevailing wind and features an approach over water to a bunker-guarded island green.

Getting there : From Hwy. 114, exit White Chapel Blvd. and turn south. Drive to Continental Blvd. and turn left. This will take you to the main entrance to Timarron, then drive 1 mile to Byron Nelson Pkwy.

Byron Nelson Reshapes the N.Texas Landscape

We spent four hours playing their 18 hole golf course.
Thursday is not the optimum day to tee it up here, the old guys have
their men's league at 9 AM and that means slow play as they dilly dally on the greens making wagers.
This clubhouse and course was built in 1994 and is a great golfing venue. Matt and Eric do a fine job with members in the pro shop.
Jason with the cart valet was a great help in describing this layout.
He is one of those positive employees who welcome members.
The biggest asset here is their 84-year-old starter. Mr. Forsyth, he was amazing,
cheerful and helpful.
The course is in excellent condition, the fairways, tees, and greens are in pristine condition.
Hole #1 has the look of a seaside links course in Ireland. The fairway is broad with many berms channeling sand dunes. The green is large, slopes downhill and had the pin located in the tip.
This course was designed by Byron Nelson with so many berms
that the flat topography of N. Texas is transformed into a hilly seaside venue.
The two signature holes are #15 and #18. Hole 15 is a short uphill
right dogleg with two large trees in the fairway and woods on right and left.
Hole #18 is a Monster par five that will intimidate even low
handicappers. Your third shot will be a 185 carry over the water to an elongated, narrow, and uphill island green. Ouch!
