Fantastic
Given the time of year the course was fantastic.
There was 2 temporary greens and the pro shop was being renovated but the team was friendly and welcoming.
Can’t wait to play there again
Bunkers weren't raked, temporary greens we weren't told about no reduction in green fee.
This could have been a nice day but unfortunately the greens were in pretty terrible condition and weren't running true at all. It looks like they have let societies run riot as there were so many unrepaired or poorly repaired pitch marks it was quite disappointing. There was also temporary greens in place that we were not made aware of on the golf now app (golf now needs to fix this) or when we signed in at the pro shop, though we were sold memberships at length so there was plenty of time to do so. Additionally, the bunkers had not need raked at all which felt more than a little lazy.
Pace of play was great as no-one was out on a Thursday morning (11am tee time) so no complaints there and the soup at the half way house was very tasty. Staff were also very nice. It was a shame the course was in such poor shape and no-one thought to let us know or offer any discount for the substandard day.
Nice course with good vistas
Nice solid course. Good greens and fairways. Not many dangers though and fairly open. Good bar and restaurant. Only poor point was the price. Visitors fees range from £43 -£62 which is over priced for the course in my personal opinion.
Cold and a little wet
Unfortunately in the morning we were informed due to the poor weather the night before only the back 9 was available. However we were able to do 2 loops and it remained a par 72.
The Course played really well all things considered, the staff were brilliant and extremely friendly, as were the facilities.
There was a ladies member’s Christmas fancy dress comp on who were extremely slow in certain groups but we managed to negotiate the gaps and have a great game.
Could be managed a lot better
I was really excited to play Kingswood and after paying £73 for a 3pm tee off I expected a really enjoyable round. When we arrived the pro shop tried making me pay again even though I had paid up in advance.
The course itself has a great layout and is in great condition. Unfortunately, as with most courses these days the clubs are getting way too greedy. We waited ten minutes on every tee box before being able to play. There were also lots of teenagers on the course without adults. We complained to the pro when he drove around and he just said sorry and that some people hadn’t even paid.
Mud pit
Very very wet and muddy. Fair play to the staff for keeping the course open however it was not pleasant to play.
Exceptional greens, poor fairways and rough
Greens are excellent, but the fairways were patchy, the rough had grass trimmings all over it and was inconsistent in length, the course just looks like it needs a good tidy up and refresh. For the price the expectation of quality was much higher.
Great course and welcoming staff and junior members
I loved the course but the most memorable thing about the round was how the juniors in front behaved. I started as a junior some 40 years ago. I lknew there was a junior comp in front and that was fine, i was on my own, but i was apologised to by a man in a buggy but also the juniors themselves. I was never that polite but these three were exemplary and a credit to the club and their families. They apologised, they chatted with me and as they teed off, wished me a pleasant round. My golf was rubbish but the course was great and played long if you missed the fairways. The greens were quick and excellent. Oh and i can highly recommend the club sandwich!
Superb golf course
Loved this course, very fair but not easy and beautifully maintained. Only downside being slow play due to members lacking in etiquette and playing ability.... if you're going to take 30 mins per hole, let the 1 ball through.
Wonderful
Second time out there. Fantastic golf experience. Great layout in very good condition. Very friendly, and welcoming. No fuss..
A Regal Choice
A most impressive course in premium condition. A must-play option for a course within sensible reach of central London. Absurdly good value at £55 per person for the round. Strongly recommended.
