Really nice 9 hole course, but very slow play on the weekends
Played it for the first time and enjoyed the location and the course a lot. It's probably the best 9 hole course I played so far with some challenging holes, some are over 200y long which is very good for London. Conditions and greens were excellent as well, apart from some greens which suffered from the amount of people playing this course.
Only issue was the pace of play - Took 2.5h to finish this 9 hole course on a Saturday morning, with plenty of other players trying to overtake.
Will definitely come back, though, and can also highly recommend this course, especially if you can play mid-weeks.
Great for young people
Played with my 13 year old son for his first round of golf and it worked out really well
Good for a relaxed round of golf
The course condition was generally average. While the fairways were adequately maintained, there were areas where the grass seemed a bit patchy, which could potentially affect play. The greens, though smooth enough for putting, lacked the speed and consistency found in higher-end courses. Despite this, they were playable and posed an enjoyable challenge.
Facilities at the center are basic yet functional. The clubhouse offers essential amenities such as a pro shop and a snack bar, providing everything you need for a comfortable golfing experience. The staff was friendly and accommodating, adding to the overall welcoming atmosphere of the place.
While The Oaks Golf Centre's 9-hole course may not boast championship-level conditions, it offers good value for money and a relaxed environment to enjoy the game. Whether you're a local looking for a convenient place to practice or a visitor seeking a casual round of golf, this course provides a pleasant outing amidst picturesque surroundings.
While the course condition and greens were average during my visit, The Oaks Golf Centre remains a charming destination for a laid-back round of golf. With its affordable rates and inviting ambiance, it's worth considering for golfers of all skill levels seeking a relaxed golfing experience close to nature.
A 9 hole that definitely makes you work hard
I'm just learning golf and like to find 9 hole courses around the area. I decided to try this one.
- It's very hilly
- you would rather be short than left tor right
- greens are relatively small
A great challenging course.
Fairways overgrown
Lovely little course that I have played many times. It is a challenging par 3 however the biggest challenge was finding the ball, even after landing it flush down the middle of the fair way. Too many weeds and long grass, which is disappointing as ordinarily it’s lovely to play.
Decent Course For Beginners
Fairways are a little tight and relatively hilly. But enjoyable to play in the summer with good weather
Quick 9 hole's.
Lovely course, speedy first two holes, then followed a one ball, who was held up by an extremely slow four ball.
These things happen but despite clear signage to avoid slow play that's golf....
I do however always feel for players behind or should I say I'm aware of an audience, either way shot 38 over 9 holes which is a personal best having only been playing 10months...
I will be back it's always a shame when 4balls hold up play. Iv had this at numerous venues, but it shouldn't put anybody off. Great course
Shot 30 today on 9 hole.great morning
9 hole
My Son and I enjoyed the course very much even tho it is a workout on the legs . The only problem I had with the course was the mats .
Good for those learning to play
Good layout but got lost trying to find next tee , more signs would be a good idea
Great Beginners Course
Challenging little.course. bit lengthy for all par 3 holes. Could have been better weighted.
A par 3 course
Wouldnt really recommend it, a beginners course so in that regard im sure its fine. You have to play off of mats and they are covered in stones so my clubs took abit of a battering which was really annoying, same for alot of the greens which was frustrating. The full 18 looks like a really nice course on the other hand.
Great value. Allowed us to tee off early. Friendly staff
