Alison at the Bristol
Lovely course layout, deer running across the fairways
Nice and open for your drives
Lovely clubhouse and facilties
Definitely worth a visit
Nice course
A nice course with some great views of the area. Some long par 4’s and long par 5’s. Some very nice par 3’s over water. There are a couple of holes where it can be quite dangerous as the tee is very near the green so if you’re off with your approach shot it can cause a problem, so be weary. I was playing with a member Carl who took me around. Very nice local people and staff. During twilight period you can get a buggy for £10 which is worth it. The walk between 17 and 18 is quite tough and I’m quite fit but for the less fit or older players it might cause a problem so go for the buggy. A lovely course with a good layout The only issue was black stuff all over the greens, I’m not sure if it was an insect or the local fowl population walking all over the green. I was constantly cleaning my galls and putter.
Great course
Booked to play the Bristol on the way back home from a trip up north. Great location right off the m5. Course well kept with stunning views. Only slight negative was the bunkers could do with a little more Sand in them. But we’ll worth playing. Will definitely be going back sometime. Oh and the home made sausage rolls where amazing👍
Great course and great price. Just quite wet in the winter.
I have played here a couple times before and really enjoyed the course, this time around I think due to the time of the year it was quite wet in some places but that’s to be expected. There was maintenance going on on the second tee which is good to see and also what seemed to be upgrades to drainage on some of the bunkers, which when I came to the green keepers stoped and let me play through.
Great course and definitely will be going back
Cracking course and club. Great condition apart from the frozen greens but that can’t be helped at this time of year.
The walk up from the 17th green to the 18th tee is a pull but again worth it with a lovely finishing hole into the clubhouse
Could have been better
Having played the Bristol quite a few times in previous years I was looking forward to playing after a fairly wet July.
Course has had some changes made to it which in my opinion were not for the better. The removal of trees and bushes and the greens were in pretty poor shape given there had been a pretty decent spell of weather before we played. You could tell that during the wet parts of July they had been played on and the roll was so bad.
Great course
Nothing bad to say about this course well designed, challenging and very well kept, one of my favourite courses in the area
Beautiful Course
First time playing here and did not disappoint! It is kept to a professional standard and every hole presents a different challenge
10/10
Challenging, yet forgiving.
Nice course overall - though I am relatively new to the sport, I have had the good fortune of playing in multiple courses across the globe. No complaints with the helpfulness and friendliness of staff.
The course was well maintained and had some relatively challenging holes.
The Bristol
Very good course, challenging and very well thought out but if I was to be picky the grass on the tees were a little long but overall very good course
Great M5 course
This is a course I will definitely come back to. Easy to get to, good price and a brilliant every hole is different course with great views of the Severn bridge. Back nine was really enjoyable with some great Pär threes.
Course conditions
Played here for the first time around April/May and was blown away from the layout/condition of the course.
Playing for my second time yesterday reiterated just how beautiful this course really is.
The greens(although very fast)were in impeccable condition fairways were also in great shape too.
If I had one small negative it would be sonic the tee boxes were full of divots (I know there was a competition on just before our round)so maybe that’s the reason but overall this is one of the best courses I’ve played in the Uk and I play/work all over the country.
Great customer service
Turned up and was told that the course was very busy, and that I'd need to play with 3 others - not great on any number of fronts in the current climate! I said I wasn't too happy about that, as time and health were of the essence - so they suggested that I could play the Par 3 as many times as I liked, and gave me a coffee for my troubles. This suited me down to the ground - it was all done painlessly, proactively and with a smile. Superb customer service - something many other clubs could learn from. I look forward to returning to try out the 18 hole course sometime in the future - but for now I can only compliment the staff for being wonderful - thank you!
Great course
The course was in excellent condition given the weather we have had lately. The course provides so many different challenges all in one round in stunning surroundings well worth a visit!!!
Lovely course but slow slow slow
The course is excellent. Tee boxes, greens and fairways are all in great condition. So very tricky holes, greens are very challenging but running true and fast. The real shame was the pace of play. Astonishing slow, waiting from the first tee box on every hole for at least 10 minutes.
Some other holes we were stacked up 3 deep in groups. It did seem like the course had key far to many people on. I have my suspicions that people are not following correct tee slots allocated as on the website it seems you can book slots where you should join up with others (to make more money i guess!?) and my feeling is that these people don’t actually join up. I think potentially a starter at the first hole could help combat this.
All in all, course fantastic! Pace of play - awful
Beautiful course
First time playing at The Bristol and will definitely return in the future, beautiful course and fantastic layout. Very slow play however which was very frustrating to be held up by a very slow 2ball up ahead.
Great course, really challenging greens. The pace of play was horrendous, had to tee off fifteen minutes late due to a backlog and had to wait an age at every tee and on every fairway.
