Course should have been closed.
We arrived at the course. (Granted without checking the course status) and was told no trolleys. Carry only. There hasn’t been a lot of rain for a week. Yet the course was soaking. With standing water. The course is a good layout. But definitely shouldn’t have been open.
Duke of Earl
Excellent course, far better than the Kings imo…pace of play was unusually good for the Warwickshire with the Marshalls out enforcing pace of play, would love to see that at more golf clubs. Course was in good nick as ever with the greens running at a good speed and at 35 quid an absolute bargain .
Great value for Money & a Real Test of the White Tee's
Very impressed with the course layout and mix of holes. We chose to play off the white tee's at over 7,100 yards which made for a real challenge. Really fantastic value for only £32.00 each for a 3-ball, at 4:20pm on a Wednesday evening.
Great course but wet
Really interesting course and would be amazing in the right conditions. Obviously the weather is out of the courses control, but it was so wet underfoot I can’t believe it was open. Great course but I don’t think it drains particularly well
Shame about the Pace of play
The two courses here are both well worth playing although they are both challenging for average players
It is not local for us so we only play there once a year but is is worth the drive.
Our game this week was very disappointing, the course was in excellent condition but the pace of play was really bad at over 5 hours and on 2 occasions we had 4 groups playing or waiting on the hole.
Such a shame as it was not the sort of day you wanted to stand around waiting.
Long but thoroughly enjoyable
In spite of a lot of recent rain the course played really well.geens were true and well paced for nearly October in the wet.
Can't fault it
Long game challenge
The Warwickshire is a beautiful facility in the Warwickshire countryside that provides everything you need on site. The Earls course, in my opinion is the better of the two 18 hole courses and provides an excellent challenge from the yellow or white tees - be prepared to hit a lot of long irons/hybrids into greens if you choose to go to the back of the tee boxes. Driving room is fairly generous but go a way off line and you will have long rough and trees to contend with. An awful lot of approach shots seem to be uphill which makes club selection tricky but the greens are generous and fairly receptive to a well struck shot.
Overall, a great experience. If you are thinking of taking on both courses on the same day I would recommend taking a buggy.
Great layout
The course was understandably wet but did not dampen the round. My son and nephew continued after a family emergency meant I left after hole 4, they informed me that it was a very good course and the greens were good for time of year!
Poor condition
Course wasn’t the best with inconsistent grass length on the fairways and greens looked like they had been recently treated. No trollers allowed but was only informed of this as we were walking down the first fairway. No trollers available either with winter wheels although course wasn’t wet. Very strange decision but we ended up having to carry full bags around a very long course. Disappointed to say the least.
Pace of play was far to slow .
Plus we had to let 3 different competition groups through.
Must have been a 5 to 6 hour round ridiculous.
June 4th 2021
A wonderful course, condition was good, not great, the big grievance was we were a 2 ball, behind a 1 ball, who was behind a 1-ball, in front of which was a society with 4 x 4 balls. 3 hours to play nine holes - rubbish.
So please check what’s ahead before you book - the locals told me Thursday and Friday must be avoided?
But despite my moaning - it’s a gorgeous course!
Ironically as we finished at 1800, the place was empty - moral - play late!
Great day on the course
Really enjoyed the course! It’s a big challenge and the greens were in very good condition. Slightly chaotic bar staff afterwards though. Not great customer service, suggest they need some training in politeness.
Fantastic Parkland Course
Lovely hole layouts, true and undulating greens and a nice challenge at 6700 off the yellows.
Earls course
Lovely course, extremely well prepared, enjoyed every hole
