Tough Course
Excellent course, greens very difficult for a beginner like myself and in perfect condition love how challenging it is makes you think about your shots, it will improve anyones game playing this course i highly recommend a round here dont be put off on its difficulty you will still love it here. Challenge yourself.
slow play
The course was in good nick, it was enjoyable .
it took 5hours to get round as the play was so slow and we had a cart - that aspect spoilt the day
Nice course but pace of play a challenge
When your average pace is 1.2 mph for a round in good weather conditions you know that is a long round. Some course Marshall's needed to move the pace along.
Every hole different
From 1st up over hill to tiny second from up on the hill all varying holes. Greens quick. Couple of badly behaved lads on the course but worth a visit.
Three Locks after lockdown
Good day out and the first time on this course. Actually played better than my handicap, so happy given first 18 hole outing in over 5 months due to lockdown. Off Course amenities closed due to COVID so cannot comment, but take away food available. Staff were welcoming and so were players out on the course.
Not recommend for a proper golf player
Very inexperience staff. Unreasonable course design and grass management. I would not play second time there. Although it’s cheap but not value.
Very good in the circumstances
First outing since lockdown; really surprised at the quality of the course despite what must have been a difficult time for the greenskeepers.
First time here, Impressed.
Played the lakes to valley. Lakes very good course, not as keen with valley; which is poorly marked out, although in nice condition. Definitely will play this course again, ideally the Hellidon.
Good Value
Played in wet conditions, but only one winter green. There were several winter tees however which were of poor quality. Overall though the course was in very good condition & there were very few people playing so could play at any pace you liked. Will definitely go back.
Three Locks GC
Need more signage from 6 to 7 and other various tee boxes 12 to 13 is walk back up the 12 fairway (signage needed to leave trolley) 17 to 18 tee box no signage ? had to ask fellow players but overall the course is kept in really good condition but with no course guide available together with no course layout on score card for a new player there had to try and work it out ?
But like l said a good challenging course in good condition just needs tweaking on layout
Very very slow....
Normally enjoy it here but we got stuck behind a 4 ball who were more concerned with drinking beer and doing handbrake turns in the buggies than playing golf. 5 hour round that felt like it would never end.
Lack of ball washers on the tees a constant negative but the course was in fairly good shape.
Average and overpriced
The course plays like a municipal course with fees equivalent to a low end members club. Some interesting holes but not a lot of trouble around many of the greens makes the approach shots a little boring. Many of the par 5s could be turned into tough par 4s to make it more interesting!
