Great Course
This was our first time playing this course. I’d say the back 9 is better than the front in terms of layout and ‘interest’.
I’d consider playing here again, but unfortunately our experience was sullied by youths messing around on the course and removing flags when we were trying to play certain holes. Of course this is no fault of the staff, but it affected our enjoyment of the round.
Very enjoyable
Had a very enjoyable wednesday at Whitefield. The course was in fantastic condition considering the time of year. Mats required off the fairways and temporary tees on most holes but even these were absolutely fine. All holes open and all normal greens in use and in fantastic condition. Will be visiting this course much more often.
Excellent round of golf
Course was in excellent condition for the time of year and weather we've had recently. Only one hole closed, full greens in play which were in great condition and a hand full off winter tee boxes which is fine.
Will definitely be playing again for £20 a round.
Bar was closed by the time we'd finished so can't comment on that.
Excellent greens
I used to play this course occasionally a few years ago and have recently returned. Whilst overall the course is in really good condition the greens are exceptional. I play on a number of different courses but the greens here are by far the best. That doesn’t make them easy, the opposite if anything but they are a pleasure to play on. I generally play midweek so he can comment on the pace of play at the weekends but we’ve had an issue. The club house and bar/ cafe are modern and well appointed. I would highly recommend (but not on a Wednesday please ;-)
Great course would play again
Really enjoyed this course was in really good condition and all the staff were really welcoming would recommend playing here has a great lay out and lots of really good looking holes
Great local course
I’ve lived in Whitefield for 8 years and had never got round to playing here. Having picked up the clubs again I decided to give it a go. Glad I did. Great course with some lovely holes. Looking forward to going again soon, and definitely want to try again when winter tees are over.
Fore and a half hours
Pace of play - on the day we played this was poor at best, every tee shot, every shot we had to wait, we waited upto 25 mins on a couple of tees, this might be acceptable to some, no quicker groups got let through groups looking for balls that were clearly lost for far too long, we must have just got caught on a bad day, I guess Enough of the bad onto the good, the course overall was in great nick, fairways nice and lush, greens very receptive and ran true, tricky little course to navigate round, the par 3s are a real test you really have to trust your club selection.
Day spoilt with the overall pace of play but I guess that's golf life sometimes
Green keepers are always up for a laugh
Green keepers have dogs that are free to disrupt your round and when they say green keepers have priority on the greens they live by that rule. Whether your in their way or not. They will run you over if your in the way. I honestly had to move away from a putt I was.about to hit because if I didnt I would have been hit. Best of all I was laughed at on the 18th for a bad shot by a greenskeeper. Imagine that. Terrible. They had massively impacted my round with their bad etiquette and to be so rude is unacceptable.
Did not disappoint!!!
I have wanted to play Whitefield for a long time. It didn’t disappoint. Long par 3s and short par 4s on front 9. The back nine is alot longer and a real challenge . Proper testing holes but stunning at same time. Played twilight and the course was great nick especially considering the amount of rain. Only saw one puddle. The course was soft and I can’t wait to play again in firmer conditions.
catering good and made to feel welcome, course a bit heavy under foot but very playable, enjoyed it.
Good course
Excellent condition fairways and greens were very good decent course with some nice par 3s would play again
Great course - interesting layout
Overall a great looking course with some raised tees, water and bunkers to keep it interesting. Some slower players and no starter to keep them moving.
People not receptive to playing through.
Overall great for the price
