First time we played this course and we’re not disappointed. Course condition excellent if not a little challenging. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful, even found me a charger so I could charge my phone. Would most definitely come back and recommend to friends
Nice course but round was very slow.
Stick around a big golf society day which was a bit frustrating.
Challenging course but very good!
I've played around 20 courses this year, and I think this is the hardest! Challenging holes, well maintained with greens that often need figuring out.
It's a hard track, but a great one. I play off 20.4 at the moment and I think if I can play good golf here, I'll play good golf anywhere!
4th time to play with golfnow, great value, and I like the course so much I'm going to join when my current membership expires.
No comment re: bar and food. Didn't buy anything
Great condition
I suppose it is because of the chalk bottom
That facilitates the circulation of water rather than stagnation that help the mint green keeping
Great green keeping slightly dry because of the heat wave but soft and enjoyable to play
5 star greens and fairway
Great overall layout
Pity it's far for me
Great condition. Greens were superb
Great course that’s well looked after. Enjoyed the lay out. Fair few holes cross over but it’s not a problem. Will definitely play here again.
Amazing Greens.
Like all courses at the moment they need some rain but the greens at Willingdon were immaculate. Bunkers protect most greens and can be quite deep as I sadly found out on a couple of occasions.
Pace of play was good despite the criss cross nature of a few of the holes and check the signs so not to walk into a drive from another tee. There are some great par 3's including a raised green 5th and 220 yard 13th.
With spectacular views of Eastbourne, I highly recommend Willingdon Golf Club.
Great course
Excellent condition greens were great overal great condition
Underwhelming. Certainly not worth normal green fee
The course it’s self if a good challenge. Each hole has character and requires different strategies. The course was in decent enough condition given the tough weather we’ve had recently. Greens were super green and well treated but very inconsistent in terms of pace.
Gentleman in the pro shop gave a lovely welcome. Very helpful and appreciative of non members coming to play the course.
However, we caught a group up on hole 9. Playing time up until this point was approx 75 minutes. The two ball in front did not even acknowledge us when we were stood on the tee box with them, no eye contact whatsoever, no words said, it was so ridiculously slow, we even caught the 3 ball in front of them and at times were stood on the tee box waiting. The last 9 holes took 3 hours waiting. At no point did any of the members offer to play thru.
I would assume that the club itself have prices tee times to put off non members from playing the course. It certainly isn’t worth £50 tee time. Nor £35 discounted rate. I paid £25 from using one of the Hot Deals. £25 is fair. I wouldn’t pay more. But the members Attitude on course means I’ll not go back!
Very disappointing!
Lovely views
Really enjoyed the layout - although the cross-overs were a bit confusing. Long par 3’s, and well placed bunkers made the short holes difficult. The greens were furry and slow.
Always excellent
Couldn’t fault the value excellent condition course always enjoyable with some tough holes
Stunning course set in the south downs.
As the first time playing this course wasn't sure what to expect, having picked up a bargain tee-time on a hot deal it was a no brainer to give this course a go and what a good decision that was! A stunning course in outstanding condition, the greens where perfect shame about my putting. can't comment on the bar as didn't get chance to use it but the course was stunning even if the layout at times was a tad confusing, don't be fooled by the short overall yardage this course is challenging!
Nice course but...
The course was in relatively good condition however it is a course that I would not recommend for all as it is very hilly on many holes even with electric trolleys with lots of holes which cross one another.
This can be disconcerting on your play.
Clubhouse was n good condition although starting to look tired in places.
Staff were very friendly
Beautiful elevated views.
Will definitely return however a buggy maybe required.
Challenging enjoyable well maintained course.
Very poor pace of play
Course conditions good but disappointed by very slow pace of play and no marshal to hurry players up or let play through

Lovely course in great condition, a bit hilly and holes cris cross each other a bit but a good golf challenge
Played Willingdon for the second time, this time on a very wet Sunday afternoon! But the course was quiet and in fantastic condition and a good golf challenge without being too punitive. its a bit hilly so beware if you are not so fit but lovely south downs setting. Didnt get to use the clubhouse this time as we were wet through but i know from the past visit it has a nice bar and lounge area.
Last played Willingdon in 2019. Always look forward to going back.Spectacular scenery and course strategy required. Greens in good condition. Little gripe about next tee signage but that never would detract me from playing this wonderful course. Will continue going back while I can climb the hills and master 'Sleepers' once and for all.
