Hilly, windy and quiet!
Great value round of golf. Course has been altered slightly due to drainage issues but that was explained before we started. Found a few boggy areas (not on the fairway only in the rough). A windy day and challenging hilly course.
A good course in the summer
There were temporary tee boxes on the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 15th, 17th and 18th reducing some par 4s to par 3. There was no-one in the pro-shop or club house to be able to buy basics such as a drink or golf tees. If they sort the drainage out for the winter it will be a great course to play all year long. I would recommend booking on golf now rather than direct with the club as it will be much cheaper.
Good 18 holes
Played again, getting better more I play at douglas golf course, greens kept well, fairways kept up to, grass cutting going on, great place to play.
Greens are spot on
1st time I've played here, taken golf back up after a long lay off, so I wasn't in a rush, getting used to where the holes were, didn't feel any pressure, from any players in front or behind me. Great course we'll kept will definitely be back, can't wait.
Douglas golf course
Poor fairways, overgrown tee boxes, disgusting bunkers with grass growing in the bunker material and greens, that from a distance looked very good, on closer inspection were barely fair. We would not entertain another visit to this course even if someone else paid for us. Thankfully we got a hot deal of £17.50 each and that was too much for the state of the course.
Great course
I love this course played it many times now while visiting the island. For a municipal course it’s very well kept and look forward to playing it again. Staff in pro shop and bar were great too.
Good layout but poor course conditions
Shop bar and food very good. Course layout good with variety of difficulty. But course condition poor, may be lack of rain but fairways poor and yellow and bare earth in places. Greens poor, yellow despite being watered with bare patches and slow. Happy as we has a “hot deal “ just £9 each but would not have payed full price. Shame as some interesting holes, sorry to be negative and assume post covid and weather conditions may primarily to blame.

Couldn’t give rating for staff friendliness as no staff available before 9:15.Pro shop closed and couldn’t even get a score card!!
