DeBell Golf Club in Burbank offers an 18-hole Regulation Course and a nine-hole disc golf course. The Regulation Course has a tight layout with narrow fairways and a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Accuracy is the key to doing well on this golf course but it's not overly punishing. Its risk-reward holes will appeal to low and high handicappers alike. The front nine is fairly challenging but the back nine is where the golf course gets tough. Although DeBell Golf Club is short, only 5,608 yards from the back tees, the blind shots and winding doglegs make it seem much longer than it is. There isn't any water on the golf course but you'll hardly miss its presence with all the other hazards that lurk throughout.

Ok for the money

Was disappointed with the condition of many of the fairways. The rough along most of the fairways was shin deep and appeared to not have been maintained in months. Greens were satisfactory following perforation but they desperately need to be rolled.

Bring balls.

This is not a friendly course. It will eat your balls with no remorse. Small greens, tight lies and canyons that make things disappear. If you play to your strengths and keep your ball in the fairway you will do fine. But Hail Mary shots will be eaten by the tall rough. Greens were punched and over few weeks ago so they were chunky and full of regret. If I had known I might have gone somewhere else. Harder than knollwood. Pace of play was decent. Started at 2:50pm ended at 7pm.

I probably won’t be back unless I want to torture someone worse than me at golf.

Fun layout and requires shot making!

This is a short course, however ball positioning is key, as you can make a big number if you don’t keep your ball in play. That said, it’s a fair course, but it takes some plotting to play the right shots. This is not a course where you can just whip out the driver on every hole. Some short par 4s will require a strategically placed mid to even short iron. The back 9 is much more of a typical golf course. Due to the elevation changes this course plays much longer than the card shows. So really fun par 5s and the De Bell hole is a downhill 180 yd blind shot par 3 to a hidden green. Very fun! My only gripe is that the greens were recently punched but the pro shop didn’t warn anyone before the round. Typically the greens are in good shape but today they were pretty bad. Hopefully in a few weeks they will be amazing again.

Debell

Don’t book to play debell, the workers couldn’t find my golfnow reservation and they weren’t going to let us play at all because they couldn’t find it. I pulled up a confirmation number and showed that I payed already and they still were hesitant to make something happen. We had to beg them to let us on to play for something we paid for. The whole time they were just complaining the golfnow isn’t allowed to book tee times and we shouldn’t have booked with them

GOD

I would like to say ‘GOD’ Golf on Demand was a great experience! I had no complaints and I would like to try the gold course again in person when I am back in town!

First time at debell

Initial view of clubhouse and entrance seemed nice. Staff was friendly. Once I got to the first hole there was no starter to make sure people were teeing off at proper time. Teed off almost 25min after actual tee time.
Groups ahead were not playing at rate of play. 9 holes took almost 3 hours. Was supposed to play 18 but got so tired of waiting around that I left after 9. and also having players right behind us. It was not relaxing in any way. Tee times should be placed further apart and starting on time.

Under construction

The conditions were absolutely terrible. Half the course is under construction and we weren’t told of this. Had people sneak on to the course and play in front of us. No Marshall until hole 18. We had 4 different groups playing on hole 10. It was a terrible round and I’m very disappointed for a course that used to be great

Grounds under repair

The whole course is need of a make over. The la fires made it worse but still needs a lot of attention.

Cold Wet Slow but only one of those things is in your control.
Have course marshals gone for good?
Not just one group but several. 2 and half + on the front 9. Course courtesy in regard to fellow golfers just seems way down. The slow group ahead of us, who were complaining about the slow group ahead of them, spent huge amounts of time on the greens, left carts in the middle of the fairway so we couldn’t even hit up etc, then didn’t even ring the bell when they left 12. We had to ask the cart girl if they’d left the green.
Ultimately gave up after that.
Also would have loved to have tried out the new driving range before I played but couldn’t get the card reader to work…again.. so no warm up.
I love Da Bell. But it’s a couple hours of driving at least to play for me so I do it rarely or if it’s a deal. I’m so glad yesterday was because if I’d plopped down 60 bucks + to have to go home after yesterdays 3 hour for 12 holes misery I’d have wanted a refund.

Front and back are totally different

Front 9 holes were really difficult to play.
The fairways of front 9 holes were narrow and courses were short and crooked. Greens were too small.
Back 9 hole were relatively wide and straight. Much comfortable to play than front holes.
