Ripe conditions
Man!!! This course is so often in great condition. Greens roll so true and the right amount of hold on approach shots. Staff did a great job checking everyone in and getting groups out as timely as they could. Practice facilities are top notch too! The local pro: Jae Whang is full of great info and communicates so well!
DONT GOLF HERE.. unless you like 6 hour rounds
Played 12 holes in 4 hours then had to call it quits. They stack tee times like no other, expect 2-3 groups on each hole. Dudes in pro shop seem to hate their jobs, they take your money and thats it. Starter barely looked up. All the marshall did was ask groups to tee off into the group in front on par 3s which i just dont think works at this course. He said “its not my fault” after we asked about slow play. overbooking certainly caused slow play. Only chill worker out here was cart girl.
The real bummer is that the course is in good shape and has a fun layout. otherwise, the whole experience is pretty whack
Take your money elsewhere.
Tee time started 20 minutes late. Bad news when you’re backed up on the 1st box. From there we proceeded to wait 10-20 minutes at every hole. 7 hour round.
Course looked great and played fair.
Please, do not go. They will take your $80 and space you out every 5 minutes. Incredibly greedy course.
Sean = Shambles
When your standard response to being backed up at the number 1 tee box is “what, you haven’t played here before,” you know the bar has been set low.
Sean(pro shop)is probably by far the worst human that could ever work in the best sport in the world.
They’re notorious for trying to stack their tee sheet and not giving another thought to anyone’s experience. Golf is in a weird place right now. The supply is far inferior to the demand, and it shows at Costa Mesa.
good to be back
had hand surgery, just got out to play again had a great time. teed up with 3 nice guys also out to have fun playing golf on a beautiful day!
great to play again... fun course, short but challenging.
Wednesday 1:15 tee time
Mesa Linda - Costa Mesa, 18 hole course. Plays great for the beginner and experienced golfer. It is the smaller of the 2 courses at Costa Mesa golf course, there is a continuous play without stopping at the turn of the 9th whole. There is a snack shack and a snack cart available on this side. Greens were in good shape, rolled fast but true.
My biggest concern with a 1:15 PM tee time is pace of play, without Marshall's on Mesa Linda, groups will play slow without even knowing it. 1:15 to 5:50 is a bit ridiculous, but for the golf now plus membership price it's worth it if you don't have to work later that evening.
They stacked teetimes like crazy
I’ve been playing Costa Mesa golf courses Los Lagos and Mesa Verde since I was in high school And now I’m 43. I know that their course is pretty busy but I’ve never seen it like it was on Presidents’ Day. Our tee time was at 10:15 and we got there at 9:30 to hit balls/ check in and no one told us anything about that they were backed up.So when I go to the first T box with out 4 foursome at 1 hole at Los Lagos there was five other groups waiting to tee off( Two groups in front of us were fivesomes Not to mention) . I talked to the Marshall and he said we were the seventh group up and it was 10:05 am. With our tee time being at 10:15. Am. They were running 35 minutes behind with no real reasonof why. How could this be unless they were fitting people/groups in between golfers who had actual tee times. I won’t ever go back to play there again for a long time if ever… took 6 hours plus from when we arrived until we left the golf course. I hope, GOLFNOW , would check in on this and then Decide to take them off their list of golf courses they represent. Thank you.
paid 4 cart, didn't get a cart.
You should give me some credit, I did for a cart. Didn't get a cart due to weather. It's cheaper to walk the course than it would have been to get cart included. Smh. Golf now doesn't care about their customers.
Surprise - walking only
To our shock we discovered that the course was walking only due to the previous day of rain. We found out during check in. No warning at all. And, needless to say, all their push carts were being used. We could not carry our cart bags so we tried to get a rain check but the staff wouldn’t accommodate at all!
6 hours no marshals sunday funday
Unfortunately the group in front of us had the slowest repetition of warm ups. They took a ridiculous amount of time before each shot, they slowed down the race of play and there were zero Marshall's to govern their pace of play.
We played as fast as we could. But after 9 hours taking 3 hours I decided to write this review. Course looked great, greens were superb. Everything was fine, we had a blast other than the group in front of us playing their first round of golf ever, they took more time than Bryson Dechambau
Sunday Golf was a blast
Just know that there are no marshals to govern pace of play on Sundays, I saw workers and the beer cart personal but there was no way to speed up the slowest foursome in front of us. I hit into them 3x with my new driver. Course played great, fast paced greens with lots of break and different lines to choose from. Overall a great experience with your friends. Expect weekend rounds to take 5- 5.5 hours week day 4 to 4.5 hours.
