Course has a challenging layout and massive greens with plenty of contour. Definitely will be back. Hidden gem.

Golf Course is in Great Shape June 21, 2020
Fairways and Green are in the best shape I’ve seen in 3 years. Was a little surprised how nice it was. Layout is challenging.

Beware! Poor Course Conditions and Defensive Owner/Mgr - Bad Combination!
Have played this course 3 to 4 times per year over the last 4 to 5 years and have seen it in bad shape before and felt ripped off after playing it. But because I like the layout, I would just stay away for awhile and then play it again later. Sometimes the conditions were improved, but many times they weren't and I never made a complaint about it. This time, I attempted to play the first hole (started on 10) and just gave up because of how bad the tee box, fairway, and green was. It was the worst I've seen it. Based on my previous experience with continuing to play the course and being totally disappointed, I decided to stop right there and return to the clubhouse to request a refund. As I approached the outside of the clubhouse I saw the owner/mgr whom I had met 5 years ago when we played in a golf tournament together. He was always friendly and engaging when I would see him riding the course with his wife and dog. This time was a little different. We exchanged pleasantries, but when I inquired about the condition of the course, his response to me was unexpected. He asked me how much I paid, equated what I paid as only covering the cart fee (to which I mentioned I was there to play golf not drive the cart) and mentioned how expensive it is to maintain the course, etc, etc, etc. He then said "go get your money back, and don't come back" in a very nonchalant manner. So, I got my refund and will definitely not be coming back. I will also share this experience with anyone I know who is considering playing there to discourage them. He has lost perspective, as his view is no longer consumer-centric, it's only personal now. He didn't think about the times when I paid his asking price for sub-standard conditions. I suspect a change of ownership or a partnership is coming in the near future.
Banned after 27 years of membership
I had been a member of Goshen Plantation for 27 years. It is one of the best layouts in town. I have seen the condition of the course go up and down over the years. The current ownership has let the condition deteriorate beyond belief. After expressing dissatisfaction with the continued deterioration, and after several disagreements with the owner's spouse, I have been banned from the premises. Am I bitter? Yes. However I am also relieved to be moving on to a better course at a much better value. I would suggest staying away until the course is under different ownership.
Not Impressed
Way overpriced for the course condition. Tee boxes don't matter too much to me on the long holes but we not great by any means. The greens were extremely inconsistent and left a lot to be desired. "Warts" on the green and I had to put through sand twice. The lady in the pro shop was very nice but that's the only positive I can say about this course. Maybe it's better in the summer but I'll never find out. I felt gypped when I was done and honestly felt I wasted my money. I will not be back!
Goshen, what can I say, everyone who worked there were exceptionally nice, the bones of the course were there, perhaps potentially an amazing course, the reality is that it is an abused child, to say no grass is polite, to say a goat pasture is wrong because the goat would starve, to say the course made me sad, would be accurate. there were glimpses of greatness, but the reality was abuse by whomever owns it.
