Turkey Creek Golf Club

About
Turkey Creek Golf Club in Lincoln sprawls across rolling hills that are covered with mature oak forests. The back nine even closely resembles Germany's Black Forest. The centerpiece of the course is the old granite quarry that was transformed into an expansive lake that comes into play on the third and final holes. The golf course is formidable, testing golfers with blind shots and uneven lies, but the challenges are nicely balanced by long, open fairways. Water comes into play several times throughout as well as the towering trees that blanket the landscape. The course will keep golfers on their toes but there is plenty of visual respite available. Players can often catch a glimpse of the abundant wildlife that call Turkey Creek Golf Club home, including deer, quail, foxes, and of course, wild turkeys.

18th tee box, with a few elevation changes and water on the left. If you feel confident, slug it off to the left and clear the water, putting you in a great position for a second shot to the green Photo submitted by copz1998 on 07/20/2018

Hole to hole
Course needs more directional signs going to each hole. Very easy to take the wrong turn and end up on an incorrect hole resulting in slow play if you are not familiar with the course layout. Directional signs needed to go to the first tee and the 10th tee especially. Would result in faster play without delays.
Course in disrepair
Even for winter golf this is the worst I have played this course. Bare spots everywhere. Bunkers are thin or flat ground under repair.
Winter Golf Conditions
Tee boxes were rough, fairways are dead but not unexpected - it's that time of year. Most lies were fine. Greens were in good condition.
Course is currently in winter hibernation
The greens are fine but the fairways are super patchy with large brown areas, some dead areas and a lot of areas that give a very thin lie. This can be expected at some courses in January but I don't plan to play there again until spring brings the fairways back to life.
Very muddy right now
I like this course. Always a challenge and greens are normally pretty consistent and roll fast. Very muddy out there which can be expected with weather but there are courses in Sacramento that drain much better. It was pretty tough out there.
Bunkers
Another course that has given up on maintaining their bunkers since covid and yet they still charge full price!
Good conditions considering it's late December. The fairways are patchy here and there but no issues with the greens.
Pretty views
Pretty scenery and challenging layout, staff was very friendly and the greens were in nice shape. Course looks like maybe the rain did a number to it, patchy around the greens, dormant fairways, little muddy, especially on the back 9. Finished play in just under 5 hours but it is a holiday week. Would like to try it again in the summer when the grass is growing.
Fantastic golf course
Have been playing Turkey Creek for past few years and is always in great shape, staff is friendly, and pace of play was great
Pace of play
Course is in great condition and great value for money. But I’ve played here several times in the last few weeks on different days of the week. But, each day the same problem rolls around. There has to be a way to open up the course a bit to increase pace of play. Each round I’ve played there has been at least a group in the fairway and another group waiting to tee off while my group is waiting for them. I would much rather pay more for a tee time and not run into that problem.
We Are Definitely Going Back
My son and I played this course. We both found the course challenging but beautiful and quiet. We could actually hear golfers talking on other tee boxes and fairways. There was ample wildlife which seemed to increase in numbers as the afternoon grew long. There were deer, gaggles of geese and flocks of turkeys. The winding cart paths reminded me of the "Small World" ride at D~land; around every turn there seemed to be a new view and perspective. W both are excited to return.
