Very Challenging Greens

The course is fairly open but its protection are the difficult-to-read greens. The speed and undulations make for a very difficult course. It took me half the round to figure out that you had to double the break you read and lag putting is your friend. But that's also the fun...knowing what parts of the greens to aim at. The other defense of this course is the winds coming off the bay. Choose your ball flight and club carefully. That said, fun, fun, fun.

Great course layout and very well maintained greens

Corica Park South course is a great course. It has been maintained very well. The greens are fast and breaks are not tricky (what you see is what they are). The cart path is a few inches below the fairway which makes driving the cart on to the fairway a bit of a challenge. In some holes if you hit the ball onto another fairway, using the cart to get onto the other fairway a challenge. Pace of play is slow and it is priced slightly high.

Really Like This Course

….but it was so windy when I played.I suppose that’s not anything unusual at Corica Park. But overall, a good time out in the course. Greens, as always, are in good shape

Nice links style course.

Third time playing since the remodel. Brought a few new comers to the course to see what they thought. They felt the course was in good condition. Greens were well taken care of. The rough areas, not so much. I personally feel the fees are fairly priced and look forward to the opening of the full 18 on the North course.

Greens are great

Fun course. Lots of traps and hazards. Tight fairways. Greens are sloped and super slick. Recommended.

Fast Green

Great course and great day. Just couldn't adjust to the speed of the greens, ran a lot of putts by quite often. Not the greens fault, mine. Looking forward to playing again.

Good course Good value

A terrific layout , and challenging course . Billed as a links course , probably more links style.as the fairways aren't cut to same hight as the greens so the bump and run game is not really in play and the collars and aprons of the greens tend to be soft not allowing balls to release and continue rolling onto the fairway. Thst being said it's a nice course just not what I think of as links style. I liked the course very much and would definitely play it again especially with some course knowledge. The only draw back was a slow pace of play. As we played behind a mixed 4some that insisted on waiting for the greens to clear before they teed off even though they were all very short hitters

Great course

Great course nice layout ,billed aa a links course I'd say links style, not a lot of trees and looks wide open however lots of bunkers requiring thought of where to place the ball off the tee also very soft collars around all greens making typical bump and run play almost impossible as balls refuse to release and check up. Big sloping greens in excellent condition that read more break than is actually there. Fun course, not easy to score on but I'd definitely play it again especially with a little knowledge of how it plays

In very good shape

Aside from minor browning in certain areas of the fairways, the course is in good shape. I definitely would recommend.

Solid track

Corica South has been a solid track since the renovation; started to show signs of wear in the past couple years but right now is in really great shape. The greens are absolutely pure and always quick: when we played they had rolled them for a tournament, and the starter told us they were stimping at 12, really fast. Pretty open off most tees but the subtle doglegs mean if you don't find the right line with your drive you might add 30+ yards to your approach! Great for all skill levels

Sand Traps Everywhere

First time playing this course since the rebuild. I liked the course except there are too many sand trap. At least they have good sand in the traps,
Staff very friendly.

Enjoyed it!

I had not played at Corica since the renovation and was glad I made the effort to get there. Certainly worth the greens fee on a GolfNow hot deal, although the standard rates are a bit steep compared to neighbors.

Large, undulating greens ensure two putts are not a given, but overall the layout is fair and provides a challenge for any golfer. Not too many places for inexperienced players to lose balls, but the wind and many bunkers give good players plenty to think about.

The front nine has good variety including the well-bunkered short par 3 fifth hole and the drive-able par 4 eighth. I found the back nine more challenging, with the long par 3 eleventh and par 4 twelfth both requiring solid tee shots. Two short but narrow par 4s follow, before the fun par 4 fifteenth. After 15, you turn back towards the clubhouse--and in our case into a stiff early afternoon wind that made 17 and 18 play very long and required solid approach shots.

The pace was brutally slow mid-day on a Thursday, waiting on every tee box and some approaches. I'm not sure if that is a regular occurrence or if there was an outing or league in front of us.
