linksy with an abundance of water Photo submitted by MarkMolyneux on 03/11/2020
Enjoyable Links Course
Course in good condition for early spring. Pace of play was excellent and staff was very helpful and accommodating.
Tough layout with wind gusts to 50… made for some interesting golf. Greens coming back from the aeration nicely. Great layout with water everywhere. Can’t wait for a month or two when it should be in pristine condition..
Early season
Greens were punched (not disclosed online), goose sh,t ALL over the place. Hopefully with today's heavy rains, that will be resolved. No tee markers (except white) and many of the tee boxes had sod removed for replacement.
Just would be nice if it was disclosed online.
Stay away from the water!
One of the better courses to play at here in Middletown, DE. Be ready for the multiple water hazards; however, the layout of the course is beautiful. Also this course provides the great opportunity to club down when necessary.
Great course
Excellent course greens are well kept its a challenge water everywhere accuracy over strength will work wonders on this course
Great course great food
As the weather turns I would like to see the greens improve and a beverage cart in the summer time. Other than that course was in good shape and challenging as always. Good place to go.
Just okay
The greens were aerated with no notification from GolfNow or the course website. There were only one set of tee boxes available, which slowed down play as several holes played long and the groups in front of me were struggling. They also have an issue with geese droppings. Based on the course set up and hole layout, this course is not for shorter hitters, in my opinion.
Jimmy in the Pro Shop was very friendly and welcoming. The halfway house was open and had a good variety.
I hope
Love this course as a member at Deerfield I luv to play a course minus the hills. Always easy to get on. Super friendly and on point in the pro shop . Bad areas on the course are being improved each year. Greens in season compete with some of the better courses in the state. Wish they had better yardage markers ie ornamental grass at the 100 150 200 . Wish they would get rid of a few sets of tee boxes on each hole. A few are nice a few are nasty and have been that way since day one. And lastly redo the hole numbers . Super odd set up 18 should be 9 and the hole to the right should be 18. Have way more likes than dislikes on this track will always be back 🤟🏼
Water, water, EVERYWHERE!
First time playing this course and I loved it! Drive a solid hour from Philly to play this course and I would do it again.
This course has a nice layout that forces you to properly strategize your shots. The undulating greens are still healing up from them being aerated but they were definitely playable. All of the bunkers were in great shape and it looks like ALL of the tee boxes have been upgraded.
I understand that there is new ownership and they are definitely putting a lot of money and effort into improving the golf course. I wish this course was closer to my home because I would love to play it more often.
Highly recommend playing this course
Good Course
It is a good course to play. Enough challenges. Tee boxes are very good and being further enhanced. Greens were punched/aerated and no information was published. That is the reason for my lower rating this time. THey should announce / publish the aeartion information, including through golf pass kind of websites. They should spend less on tee boxes and more on fairways, and greens.
Bunkers were not playing, perhaps due to weather.
Tuff greens
Great condition tee boxes need work they are repairing them little buy little
Over 4 hour round on a Wednesday in October
Over 4 hour round on a Wednesday in October is not acceptable ..
I got stuck behind an outing, usually pace of play is much better. Bring plenty of golf balls water hazards on almost every hole. Very challenging but a nice course , greens are quick
Great weather....tough round
The locations of the cart path in proximity to the tees and greens was challenging for my old carcass with two replacement knees. Topography was very hilly and the walk to get to the tees and greens detracted from the pleasure I might have enjoyed. The staff was great.
Pleasantly Suprised
After hearing that The Links @ St Annes was a failed real estate project with an 8 hole golf course with weeds, I finally made it down to Middletown,DE to see and play the 18 hole finished product after it had time to grow in and become the prestegious course it could be. Mission accomplished. The course is interesting, challenging and the course conditions and greens were in top condition. The off course amenities were quite good at the clubhouse as well. The staff was informative & helpful. I will be definately making a return trip to play this course.
