Great Place to Play!
This was our sixth time to play Desert Island and we have never had a bad experience. The course is in great shape, greens are holding and great speed on the putts. Great service both in the pro shop and at the grill. Although we live in PGA West, La Quinta, Desert Island is one of our "go to" courses.
Fun Vibe on "old school" course
What a fun place. The vintage vibe is really cool. All of the staff was great. Enjoyed the course, enjoyed it all.
Old school with some challenges
Ignore one star rating, reviewer either was playing a different course or was on his period, above average condition, greens a little slow but had been aeriated recently., you will remember 9 and 18
Good Track
Overall the golf experience was good. Course was in really good shape except the greens were pretty darn slow. Really had to bang it. Pace of play was two different stories. Front 9 in 2 hrs and the back 9 in 3 hrs. I would definitely come give it a try again.
not worth the time
Driving range is terrible… no grass anywhere…Course was in terrible condition. Tee boxes. poor. fairways Poor. Greens were OK. ….. Super slow pace … So slow i left after 8 holes. … Save your money ….
Nice
Nice little old school gem, nothing over the top but conditions were good and price was right. Will come back for sure.
Great day, will be returning next time in PS
First time playing Desert Island and really enjoyed it. The greens were in excellent shape. This course will be on our list to play next time we're in Palm Springs.
Service
The service was fantastic. The people in the pro shop went out of their way to help us find what we were looking for. The people scheduling the golf carts went out of their way to make sure we had no questions about where to go and what to do. They made us feel entitled.
Nice course
Very nice layout. Lots of straight forward shots down tree lined fairways. Greens were in good shape. I would look forward to playing here again.
Great Experience
Desert Island was a great experience all around. The staff were great and the course was in excellent condition. A good combination of easy and challenging holes. The signature 9th hole will make or break your round.
