Reviews
Excellent public course
Not Pebble Beach, but a nice, affordable, track that poses some challenges. If you want to be treated well and play an economical round this is the place for you.
Playing with JR
Had a nice day to play a very challenging course with very fast greens.
A little windy but not bad. Greens in good shape, fairways got a lot of roll.
Weekday play
The course is a well maintained links style course. The putting greens condition are some of the best I’ve ever played. The pace of play was a bit bunched up, but overall a pleasant playing experience.
Great course
Truth be told. I have been playing here for years. Just wanted to post a positive review because this is a consistently super golf course for all levels of play. I am a 9 handicap and fully enjoy this well maintained course. The greens are always the highlight but fairways are well taken care of also. This course is unbeatable for the green fees anywhere in the Monterey Peninsula.
Spectacular for novice players
Wide open. Priced very fairly. I’ll be coming back as I sharpen my swords there.
Salinas fairway play
Had a great time course in great shape greens really fast they were cut close. Hopefully to go back after the rain has come.
Great Deal
Course is in great condition, great value for your golf dollar.
Good muni for $$$
I play this course regularly Two different nine hole layouts . Front nine is tree lined. Back nine is like links style due to airport runway. If you play in the afternoon . The back nine can be challenging due to wind conditions. If you play during midday you might be delayed do to retirees regulars playing sometime in five-somes
Enjoyable course to play
Course is flat, so trees and traps are the challenges along with afternoon wind (like everywhere in NCAL). Mike and the others in golf shop are helpful, courteous and friendly. Greens are in pretty good shape and run generally true with frequent sloping. Some par fours are hard to reach in regulation when into the wind but course is fair and enjoyable to play.
Pace of play
Wednesday’s are the absolute worse days to play at this course. We had a threesome in front of us that must not have a clue to what pace of play means. These guys were spending about 5 mins each hole finding their drives. It would of been nice to play through them if it wasn’t for the five-some in front of them. This place is a joke when it comes to people following the rules.
First Muni
First time playing this course. While not a scenic or exciting course it is in good shape and a great course to play or practice on. I enjoyed the round and the weather was nice. Didn’t get overly windy. I’ll play it again.
Weekly Golf Game
Course in great shape but a 5 some in front of us was slow and kept play extremely slow.
Hot summer day on the course with winds
This muni course located next to an airport is the most affordable gc in the area. The calm front nine and the windy back nine gives plenty challenges for all levels. The greens were pleasantly nice. The fairways probably will look as good as it ever will for a muni, sometimes you feel like you are playing golf on a goat patch or see cows grazing. The friendly staff would occassionally give you a wave and a smile after they leave a trail of dust on your face. The pace got really slow on the 13th that I decided to skip the next 2 holes and play the last 3 holes with 3 balls to make up for it.
