Gleneagle is now out of business...:(
Course is challenging because of the proximity to houses and narrowness of the fairways. Trouble to the right or left is usually very challenging. This golf course is no longer going to be open and they have closed for business. Hopefully someone will buy it and it won't be turned into homes or condos...

Staff was top notch
For this late in the season (Oct 25), course was in great shape. The greens were unbelievably FAST however. Very challenging.
Great course to play with great views
It will be a shame to lose this course as they are closing at the end of the year for good. The greens were in pristine condition and very challenging to putt on in a great way. The views of the front range and pikes peak are outstanding while playing and the pace was great due to a lack of players that day. What a shame to lose this.
fun course
There are lots of dog legs and narrow fairways on this course. No room for error unless you play smart and manage your shots well.
Great Views!!
Greens were immaculate, fairways and tee boxes somewhat spotty, rough was thick and challenging. Cart paths really need attention. The views of the front range are unsurpassed and make up for the minor course shortfalls previously mentioned. This course is really fun to play!!
This course is challenging with very narrow fairways, thick grassy rough and lots of additional rough terrain
Great course. Tough greens to read, not much break on many that looked likem there would be breaks. Uneven slopes on the greens.
Great Value
$39 for a round of golf with cart and lunch. The greens are immaculate and speedy. The fairways were in good shape, but the rough needs some work. Can't beat this deal.
Greens were very difficult
had an excellent day, conditions were great. I just wish my "game" was up to par.
Great course with beautiful views
Has some great holes with a good design. Nice back to back holes 9-10. 9 is the hardest and 10 is the second hardest
Good course but needs attention to cart paths.
The cart paths are is horrible condition. They need immediate attention. They consist of broken up asphalt with huge holes and just dirt only cart paths that are really bad! Greens and fairways were in great shape. The rough in some areas is in poor condition (spotty grass). There are blind shots on several holes (I prefer to see my targets).
Course has fallen into severe disrepair.
From the cart paths that are falling apart, to the weeds (not only in the "rough" - using the term very liberall, but on the fairways and even on the greens) that are everywhere, to the overal dryness of the course, even near the greens, this course's owners should be ashamed of themselves for letting what could be a very nice course fall into such a dilapidated state.
Granted there was a hailstorm 4 days before I played and the damage was still in evidence (to include more than 1 3 foot tall piles of hailstones), which is easily forgivable. But the poor condition of the course indicates there is no pride nor care about repeat customers.
I will not play this course anytime soon!
Nice layout - needs some work
Gleneagle is a scenic, well-designed layout that could be a great course with some attention paid. Greens were above average - big, soft, putted nice & true, with a fair amount of slope. Fairways were decent, not great. Rough was clumpy and uneven...the vast waste areas(?) just outside of the fairways seemed more like neglected rough with gravelly, weedy turf everywhere, basically unhittable. Cartpaths are a catastrophe. I played from the blues - just under 7000 yds - and felt the test from that distance was very fair. Bonus - the course provided a hole-by-hole yardage/guidebook, worth its weight in gold to the first-time player like myself. I would not pay more than $35 to play here as is, but under $27-28 Gleneagle is quite a nice bargain.
Good enough for casual weekend golfing
I wouldn't say the course is very well maintained but is good enough for casual weekend golfing.
Outstanding views of the Front Range and the Air Force Academy.
A nice course with some of the best views I've seen. Fairways and greens in good condition. My one major complaint is the condition of the rough - very spotty; grass growing in clumps (when you can find any grass) gives you some terrible lies. Overall I'd say this is a rather average golf course.
Course needs some attention
A nice course, but , not worth paying over $30-40 to play. The fairways and greens had bare spots. Most of the fairways required playing the ball off the dirt surface rather than off grass. Greens were ok, but need attention in spots.
Decent course, not staff
The gentleman at the counter gave us a hard time for using golfnow.com. He said they hardly see any money for our green fees. I find that hard to believe. I asked him if they had deals on their own and he replied, "everyday is a deal here".
Also the man with the drink cart came by only ONCE in 18 holes. This being on a Sunday early afternoon.
Hard to want to return to a place that does not appreciate our business.
Needs work.
Greens are good. Fairways spotty. Rough is terrible. Overall it needs a lot of work.
Drought stricken course...but getting better
The fairways were narrow due to drought conditions. But this is mountain golf, and you can't expect perfect grass everywhere, especially in the rough. Very narrow course, don't always need driver. Greens were beautiful. I will play it again. If you have never played the course get a booklet from the pro shot so you know what club to use off the tee box. Several dog legs that I hit through. The layout is awesome with spectacular views. There's just too much land to have perfect grass conditions at this altutude.
The course needs watering, weeding, and yardage markers.
This course has a beautiful view of the west side of Colorado Springs. However the course is in such poor shape, that the ambiance is lost. The course needs watering, weeding, attention taken to the cart paths, more yardage markers, has a couple of houses that were built way to close to the course, and needs a reservation system which does not allow singles and doubles on a weekend. The "proshop" takes your money and sells you trinkets and candy, but there is no experienced person behind the cash register.
