One of America's best par 3s
After all these years in golf, I finally got to play the Dave Pelz-designed Short Course at Cordillera, and I certainly wasn't disappointed. Play this every week and your wedge game would certainly improve (although the last two holes are a lot more than a wedge). Even more impressive, however, were the views. You could see all of Edwards and three or four more golf courses down below from a couple of tees and greens. Absolutely breathtaking. Combine that with the cozy Irish pub (though a bit pricey), and all the short-game practice areas and you could spend the whole day out there.
wonderful surprise
gorgeous short course. Very challenging. Scenery is breathtaking.
Would suggest riding. Great value.
Will do this course again. Fantastic range facilities included. Did not eat there but they have a beautiful irish pub.
Best time on a short course ever
This course is immaculatly groomed and user friendly. I walked it both with only a few clubs and again with a hand cart. This gives you a good workout (hike) with spectacular views and abundant wildflowers. The Pub has great inexpensive food and good cold beers on the deck over looking the Eagle Valley. A super course for families with younger players.
Need water
My teenage sons and I played this course on a beautiful sunny 80 degree day. Since it's short, we decided to walk, and the pro said we wouldn't have any problem. We didn't - other than the course is VERY hilly and there were no watering stations on the course!!! And no beer carts, so once you start you are on your own for drinks! It's expensive and in a very high end resort area, so you'd think they could get some Coleman water barrels for the golfers!
spectacular views
wow..way above i70 quite hilly but suprising well layed out holes given the nature of the terrain. After one round learned of a few spots to stay away from. well cared for as well. Greens were not real difficult as they played quite true.
Hi Kristin,
My name is Bo, and I am the Director of Golf at the Short Course. First, I want to thank you so much for coming out to our course. Second, I am so sorry that my staff did not inform you of the cooler with complimentary bottled water on the #1 tee box. Please email me personally, if you are planning on returning to the Vail Valley, because I would be happy to take care of your round of golf. Thank you for your feedback, it always helps us continue to improve!
