Not worth the time or money
The staff was kind and helpful. That’s the only redeeming quality.
This course is virtually unmaintained. I am surprised, actually, that they are allowed to charge people to play here. There were holes where the pin was literally set so far to the front of the green that is was actually in the fairway. Multiple tee boxes were literally sand traps (no grass). One green was completely roped off with the cup and pin in the fairway in front of the green. This is what happens anytime a govt entity is involved with something for public use. City of Atlanta doesn’t do much well, and they’re especially bad at maintaining this course. Someone should buy it and turn it into Bobby Jones 2.0. It’s cheap for a reason. Don’t recommend.
Fun and playable.
A very easy to like course. Pleasant and green in a quiet neighborhood, it was a great place for my adult daughter's first ever game. 9 holes was enough for her to find some confidence and for me to find my swing again.
Cool little 9 hole course
Found out when I got there that they didn’t have golf carts, had a good time walking the course for the first time ever. Fairways were nice with challenging shots. They were re-doing the greens and killed the old ones….so the greens weren’t great but I’m sure that will change. Overall I would recommend.
Summer heat
The fairways are fine, but the grass off the fairway was allowed to grow too long and is now piled up in huge clumps after mowing. A couple greens are mostly brown. But hey….it’s less than $15
Good value - good walk
$13 is about right for 9 holes in the city. Needs some TLC in a few key areas, but I will be back.
Front door is locked for some reason. Gotta go round back and up stairs.
No snacks.
Won’t take walk up either. Have to call a number.
Always fun at Candler Park
This little course is fun! Although it was very mucky because of the rain the previous night. The greens were in nice shape. I wish they would cut back the trail from 8 to 9. It’s getting too overgrown and hard to navigate. Otherwise a great value!
Great layout and bad maintenance
Course is a lovely walking course. Greens are in awful shape
The Little Golf Course that Could
Like the little blue engine of yore, overlooked in favor of all the bigger, shinier engines, this little golf course always chugs and puffs and with moxie she comes through in the end.
Yes, some of the greens are “lost” and the 6th tee is… I dunno what to say about the 6th tee… but this little oasis of old-timey, unfussy, unpretentious golf is one of the best golf experiences in Atlanta. Grab your walking bag and a friend who’s never played or junior golfer and have a guaranteed great 90 minutes. I never regret 9 at Candler Park.
Play 9
A good value! This is a challenging little course. We play here often and like it due to the layout. There are a couple of low lying areas that hold water and can get mucky. Also the “hiking” path from 8 to 9 needs to be trimmed back desperately.
Good for your money
Good course for your money nothing special but decently well kept. Greens could be better but not terrible.
Only issue is if u get an early tee time they usually leave the sprinkler system on which is annoying but otherwise good course.
Perfect
The greens are uniformly irregular. The few tufts of grass on the tee boxes should be personally congratulated for their unrelenting tenacity. The fairways were... lush, actually, although there are one, maybe two holes where you need to hit them.. This is Candler Park. If you come for the conditions, you will be disappointed. If you come to follow a small white ball around an enchanting and hilly patch of historic intown Atlanta, you will find that everything here is, as always, perfect.
