Terrible management
Worst run course in the area. If you want excuses for everything, this is the place to go. Worst driving range mats I’ve ever hit on, they make excuses why you can’t hit off this grass even though it’s perfect grass. The final straw that made me give up my membership after only a couple months is, a guy was hitting golf balls from the lesson area next to the clubhouse downwind with a driver and landing them at the mats people were hitting from. Derrick from the pro shop wouldn’t answer the phone and kept telling me to “hold” because he had customers. Well if one of your “customers” got hit with a golf ball the lawsuit would have been bad but if someone had gotten hit and hurt or killed, the liability would have bankrupt the course. Good luck to anyone that wants to take a chance with this incompetent ran golf course.
Wide Open, Fun Course
This was my first time play Double Oaks golf course.
The course was pretty straight forward and fun. The back nine has a lot more variety and varied holes. The front nine is back and forth holes and the back nine has a lot more water, elevation changes and scenic holes.
The course was in pretty good shape. The fairways are very wide. The greens are very large with lots of slopes. Make sure you are below the hole and you can shoot a good score. The greens were quite slow for what I am used to playing. The greens were in average condition with not too many non-repaired ball marks. Several of the holes have long caries, just to make it to the fairway (4, 8). The bunkers were well taken care of and looked nice.
The driving range has a great practice area. The range has a lot of fun targets to hit to (basketball goal, trampoline, etc.).
Double Oaks is a fair challenge.
Very pleasant surprise.
I had not played here in years. I and my buddy were the dew sweepers this morning and got around the course very quickly. The course has been redesigned since I last played here and in each case where a hole had been changed, it was an improvement. As I am a senior, the weekday rates are reasonable. I am looking forward to the next early morning I can make it out there.
Great Course at a Great Price!
Played on a Saturday morning and the course was in excellent shape. The layout is great with very wide fairways but pretty tough greens. its a great challenge for anyone because its open off the tee but can challenge better players with their second shots. will definitely be back!
Can't get in trouble.
Wide open, few trees. Nice fairways and greens. They have a lot of senior tournaments so you can't walk on on a couple of days a week. Won't let singles play so they wait to see if they they can pair you up with someone, sometimes you wait an hour or more with no one teeing off, they just don't want a single on the course.
