Hickory Point Golf Course in Decatur is one of central Illinois' most popular courses. It has a player-friendly layout that appeals to a wide range of skill levels. The course features flat, wide fairways that make it ideal for beginners while the lengthy holes and blustery winds provide enough of a challenge for more advanced players. The par 4s are particularly long. There are some tricky holes, but you'll do well as long as you're able to keep the ball in the ample fairways. There are strategically placed bunkers coming into play as well as a few water hazards. You'll have to cross a creek on the 16th hole. Hickory Point G.C. also offers a lighted driving range and a six-hole course built specifically for beginning and youth golfers.

Tough course long holes w great greens. They hold well n put perfect
S-L-O-W Play
Since Decatur closed one of its popular courses, they are down to only two public courses for the entire city. It shows. I was by myself and it took over four and a half hours to complete 18. In a cart. It's not the course's fault. The course was in great shape. If you want to take all day for a round of golf, Decatur is the place for you.
Play This Course
What a great course. Maintained as well if not better than the private clubs in this area. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and do their best to get you golfing. Considering the winter and spring that central Illinois went through, the course is in great shape. Well worth the money.
Course layout is jive, fairways are primo the T-boxes are in great shape and the greens are perfect. Will play again!
Great condition considering the weather we have had so far this year.
The tee boxes were in bad shape, but the rest of the course was in great shape considering the amount of rain that we have received so far this year. The greens were smooth and fast. It was a great day and place for golf.
very saturated today
When I arrived I noticed that the carts were not out, so....yep, walking only. It seemed easiest to go ahead and play with what I had already paid and I did not mind walking.

Course I great condition. Interesting layout, each hole was unique.
Can't blame the course
Had a great time at the course. Didn't play great but that's why I'm here, to get better. The course was in good shape. Greens were in great shape for sure. Everything was playing pretty fast. A couple greens were kind of soft and almost plugged a hig pitch, but most were firm and reactive. All in all it was a good course. The view coming up 18 back to the clubhouse is awesome. The power lines got one of us on 18 and killed a nice shot, so I knocked the layout back for that.
No push-over
Hickory Point was playing beyond expectations today. Getting some roll in the fairways eventhough the grass is very green and well watered. The greens seemed very fast but fair. Maybe because a tournament ended only a few days ago. All in all the course is in great condition.

Course is long n tough but fair, greens r awesome. Fairways wide enough, rough is usually long n tough
I rate this course a 3.5 overall. Could have been a 4.0 , but the fairways were to long(short rough like). Greens were in great condition.
