Fun course that is on the rise
This track is 1000% better than it was last year and improving. Greens have been improved and drainage added. Brush has been cleared across all 18 holes and many trees have been removed making it pretty hard to lose a ball. Fairways are wide and playable and in pretty good shape for February. The par 5 seventh fairway is still behind the others, but still playable. For 90% of the golfers in the world, this is the type of course where you come to work on your game as its not crowded or tight. My group played 36 holes in 6.5 hrs with very minimal delay. The only negative comment I have is that the course is a work in progress and it will take more time and money to smooth out the rough edges. Kudos to the staff for the hard work they have put in... keep it up! PS, the practice area has a long and wide driving range plus three separate pitching and putting grass surfaces that are highly maintained and brand new electric carts with GPS for distance readings.
Tremendous Value and Unexpected Amenities
For $25 with a cart, it's hard to imagine a better value. This isn't a resort or country club but a solid muni course. There were some surprisingly interesting green complexes and the greens had very good speed even putting through the morning dew. I was the first out and played in 2 hours. Holes 14-16 are a lot of fun to play. A short 4, an elevated tee shot over a pond, and an uphill par 3. There is a huge practice area which I didn't expect. We need more golf courses of this caliber and price.
Nevermind the past reviews...
Bowden golf course has been undergoing a facelift...the greens are super nice...been over seeded for the winter and are bright green and rolling well. ALOT of under brush around the holes has been taken out for a open feel course. Trees has been taken out to allow more sunlight on some of the greens. Overall this course has a great layout and ready to play. Visit again and see the change...you won't be disappointed.
More work on fairways, plenty of equipment on site just nobody’s using it
This course looks like it hasn’t been maintained in months
This course has a fairway that looks like the rough on most golf courses.
Bad, bad golf course.
This course takes the cake for the absolute worst golf course I’ve ever played on. Conditions are very poor. Greens were overgrown. There are no fairways. Bunkers were flooded and it hasn’t rained in days. Staff was nice though.
Just a terrible course
I play gold anytime I travel and have played some pretty bad courses in my life. But this BY FAR was the worst course I have ever seen. There is no difference between the fairway and rough. It is all weeds and crabgrass. The greens were terrible. Not ONE was in shape. The water jugs along the way were warm, empty, and/or old. So, basically, DONT DRINK FROM THEM. I am shocked they charge more than $5 to play.
I would have to say in all my years of golfing(I’m 54) I’ve probably played over 100 courses in my life. This course absolutely ranks dead last!! I’ve never played a course in this bad of shape. We played lift clean and place in the fairways and I still couldn’t get a good lie. The frees were atrocious as well. One star gives this course too good of a review. Don’t waste your money unless your hammered drunk!!
Great Elevation Changes
The fairways were basic winter conditions with little grass but playable and the greens puttable. The weather was perfect and pace of play fast. A great experience on an interesting course design. The girl in the pro shop was superb, providing fast, courteous, and beautiful smiling service. Definitely will play again.
