About
Henderson Golf Club is a local favorite since it is the most affordable public course in Savannah. The course wanders across a scenic landscape accented with towering pines, pristine wetlands, colorful magnolia trees, and mature oaks artfully draped with Spanish moss. Playing the golf course is like getting two for one with a front nine that is almost completely open, much like a traditional links course, while the back nine is narrower with trees lining the fairways. The undulating greens are tricky since they are bordered by generous collars that require a delicate touch. The nines have a different character from one another but they are equally challenging. Henderson Golf Club is a manageable length at 6,700 yards from the back tees. It's a layout that favors accuracy, strategy, and creative shot making over distance.

Course in great condition
I play courses all over the Savannah area. The conditions at Henderson are nearly perfect. Fairways are cushiony and with lush, green grass, greens are pristine, most tee boxes are in good condition. A great value.
This Couse is in great shape
Friendly staff throughout the facility. Pace of play, condition of the course, as well as the Henderson Cafe make this establishment first class.
Nice greens
Course looked very good today.
Fairways were overall very good with tight lies, great condition considering it had rained the night before. A little soggy around the edges like normal.
Greens were true not that fast but hard to hold.
Overall Great Value for the price.
1st timer
Staff was very friendly. Course was in very good condition especially considering all the rain in the past few days. The greens and sand bunkers were in good shape. Course layout was challenging for my skill level (mid -upper 90s). Will definitely play it again.
Henderson has improved dramatically

This place is a go to spot in the Savannah area. Well over Bacon,Wilmington ,Savannah Harbor and any of the Hilton Head courses when you consider travel,greens fees ,pace of play.
I’ve played a lot of courses in the area and around Hilton Head

Prior they were horrible and now even after the snow of 2018 they are in a private club condition

Much improved
I'm continuously surprised by the money spent and improvements Henderson continues to make. Even though I was rained out after 12 holes, I saw new concrete just poured.
The greens are slow but roll great. There are still problem areas but this is the best shape I have ever seen this course in 9 years. Give it a try.
This course has a great layout
This is a very nice golf course for the price excellent green if it's windy is it very difficult but it's a great place to play

Kudos
I have seen steady progress at Henderson this year. I usually give them 3 stars for an overall rating but with the improvements lately I am happy to move that up one.
The grooming of the course is one reason, the constant activity of the employees and the addition of opening the snack bar shows someone is serious about making Henderson a "go-to" place to play.
Kudos to whoever that is.
The course need water badly! Little grass on the fairways and very dusty....
No aerification warning
I had no issue with the course but someone dropped the ball in notifying GolfNow that the course had just punched their greens the day before.
Granted I paid nothing for the round (code used) but I would have paid $10 more to go somewhere else. I gave myslf two putts on every green but would have liked to know the condition of the course.
I have seen advisories listed on tee times that state the course's condition. I hope Henderson adheres to this next time.
very disappointed
the course is a mess. no grass in the fairways, the greens are atrocious. the sand was poor to okay, depending on the hole. Really disappointing to pay anything for a course in this bad shape.
the owners need to have a real reckoning and decide to "fix it" or "close it". I would recommend NOT playing this place until they change, which might takes years, if ever.
The ultimate college golf course
Greatest value. Greens are decent. Fairways are hard. Not a lot of good places to lay up. Henderson is a great college golf course.

Course is a value course. You get what you pay for. Needs a million dollar renovation it still a great place to golf.
