Troubled Staff!
I had joined Spring Hill Country Club as a member while working in Tifton, GA. I went in to pay my dues and the staff was too busy flirting with underage girls and kept me waiting for more than 10 minutes. I finally interrupted the young man's flirting and asked to pay. He insulted me and I immediately asked to withdraw my membership. Chris was the golf pro. I told him I no longer wanted to be associated with this establishment. He understood and I left. I was paid in full up to that point. I decided to cancel and went on my way. Later, I got a bill. I called Chris and he said to put my resignation of membership in writing. I did so and took the letter and handed it to him personally.
He said that would work. Months later and I no longer even work or go to Tifton, I still receive bills from them. I ignore them. Now Jim, a board member called me. Left a message threatening to turn my account over to collections. He said Chris no longer works there and so there is no records. I informed him that I would poorly rate them given such mistreatment and harassment. I would advise you to carefully consider not ever joining this club. If you live in Tifton and like the establishment, perhaps you can have a positive influence on the management there. But the course is very flat and easy, the bunkers are not very well kept in my view, it doesn't drain well with any rain, and I was not impressed. I for sure will never play there again for any reason. I also do not ow e them any money.
Very disappointing overall experience for someone wanting to play golf while working out of town.
excellent course
had fun on this well maintained course, greens and fairways in great shape. we enjoyed our round of golf.
Deferred maintenance, most amenities closed
Very deferred maintenance on the buildings. As soon as you pull up all you say is the paint peeling off everywhere. The covered walkway up to the doors is covered in spiderwebs and dirt from the last 10 years. Definitely not the feeling you expect at a “country club”.
Amenities Closed due to “Covid”... still yet everything else in the world is open... even the YMCA.
One of South Georgia's Best
Some of, if not the fastest, greens in South Georgia. Solid layout. Course is in very good shape. Great practice facility.
Sweet course with huge trees & sweet greens
When the wind blows in Tall Pine trees...swirling winds! Our foursome was warmly welcomed when we pulled in. The staff was getting ready for a men's blitz and got us out in front of them. The fairways were a little bare but the approaches & greens were almost perfect. #2 is a wake up slap in the face, Driveable Par 3, 218 UPHILL...played 235! Downhill shots rolled out nicely. Greens held well & rolled pretty good. Don't be over the green on #8...that green is severe back to front. Loved the Par 3 11th hole. Have a cold beverage on the porch when you get done with your round.
Great place to play...
Excellent course conditions. Too many doglegs though. I'm pretty sure 2 of those par 3s were doglegs. Cant find a better manicured course in South Ga. though.
Nice course year round.
Course is always in excellent condition. Five sets of tees makes for an enjoyable round for all skill levels. The course plays longer than card says since about half of the holes are doglegs with many mature pines. Greens do not have many undulations but several are sloped and can be challenging depending on pin location. Great men's group that welcomes everyone to play, even if you're just passing through and looking for a game. I highly recommend this course!
Beautiful Course
Spring Hill has a lot to offer every level of golfer from high to low handicap. To start the driving range is excellent and newly constructed practice area with big green and practice bunker at the back of range. Course provides beautiful fairways and the greens are always in excellent shape. Course is not very long but has plenty of challenging doglegs with a few tough par 3 holes. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help out. Clubhouse has been going through some renovations that have really enhanced the beauty of this great golf club. If your in the area you should give it a try. You will not be disappointed.
First time playing this course. It is in great condition, best I have seen in my area this year. Greens are on the small side and extremely quick. Quite a few doglegs. Will definitely be back again soon!
Best course in South Ga for the money.
Springhill is a really fun course to play. Fairways are have plenty of grass so the lies are excellent and the greens are smooth and the ball rolls very true. Great driving range and short game practice area. Not a lot of water in play but the traps need a little more sand. Shoulders of the greens are over seeded and fairways from 150 yards in so you get great lies to chip from and for your approach shots. Great menu in the snack bar and a very comfortable 19th hole to relax in after the round. I highly recommend this course.
