Grounds keeper too intrusive
This place has the most intrusive grounds keeper that I've ever seen, anywhere. This is just as of recently. I've been coming here for years and lately he seems to always be on the range hitting area giving out instructions and cutting the grass right where customers are hitting. It seems that he wants people to know he's in charge. Its getting to be annoying. Otherwise, a great place to play and practice.
OK if you want to work on your short game.
Staff attitude ranges from mostly neutral to some that are openly hostile with an occasional friendly face in the mix. The sand in the parking lot is apparently reserved for something other than the sand traps which only have one half to and inch of sand on top of the red clay below, Golf cart restricted to cart path only for the entire course. Good for working on you approach shots and short game but many of the greens have significant rough patches. Many people that play there don't know to allow singles and faster players to play through so be prepared to wait. Recent price increase in not warranted by either the quality or the condition of the course.
Good quick iron test
course is in decent shape..be sure to hit the pin or you'll be putting over or around patches.. still a fun practice course!
Excellent Value - Great Short Game Course
I play the course weekly during high season. Greens are maintained very well. Fairways are average, balls can sometimes hide when hit into the higher rough. Water hazard
on holes 1, 2, 8 & 9. Watch out for the trees to the right of the green on hole#2. Holes #4 and #5 are parallel, I recommend hitting a ball on tee #4 then on tee #5 if no one is behind your group. Holes #7 and #8 are also parallel to one another.
If your ball goes in the water hazard..forget finding it. Water can be muddy or murky at times. White sand bunkers all around the course protecting the greens,
Great course for improving wedge play and short game. Longest hole is about 170yds so leave the driver in the car. Also I don't recommend golf cart rental, you'll spend too much time walking from the cart path to your shots (its a cart path only course). Bring your pull cart or rent one for $2. Course pretty easy to walk, only a few hills. PGA Pro - Mr Coffee is around quite often - ask about the twilight rate..if you play later in the day . :-)
