Very nice layout.
Seniors can enjoy high level golf at a most affordable price. Always well
Maintained with 4 sets of tees. The course rewards good shots with lots of bunkers and a little water. Former home of an LPGA Tourney.. The Robert Trent Jones layout is great for golfers of all skill levels.
(Late summer 2019....some bunkers need sand due to heavy rain washouts)
Well Run Course
Staff friendliness was my first impression of this course. It's no fluke either. I tried to play this course a year or so ago and got rained out after 9. Staff was friendly and accommodating then, and was again on my return visit. From check in, to bar staff, everyone was great. Course was is great shape except for those that don't repair their divots on the green. Only a couple of the many sand traps looked to be under repair, but not a big deal. Pace of play was excellent and as we took a break at the turn, the manager asked us if it would be okay to send a threesome out ahead of us on the back 9. Very nice in making sure we were alright with his decision. What a great idea, being nice and accommodating to those that choose to play your course. Other golf courses could take a lesson from The Rail. I don't get to Springfield often, but when I do, I'll be playing here.
