Gearhart Golf Links

About
Although records indicate that the golf course at Gearhart was established in 1892, tradition has it that several Scotsmen laid out four holes on the wind-swept dunes in the 1880s. Gearhart Golf Links is the oldest course in Oregon.
Originally a nine-hole course, Gearhart Golf Links was extended to 18 in 1913. Today the golf course is 6,551 yards, par 72 and stretches for about a mile from north to south, with the width equal to about three fairways. The elevation is fairly constant, but the up-and-down roll of the sand dunes over which the golf course is built, makes a flat lie a rarity. Gearhart Golf Links' sand base makes for excellent drainage, and the encircling condo-motel units provide considerable shelter from the coastal winds. The golf course is generally wide open, easy to walk, and a pleasure to play.

Incredible Course
Would play here again and again. Challenging greens and interesting shots all day long. Having it attached to the McMenamins hotel is fantastic. Bunker bar is an incredible place to grab a beer after the round.
Awesome
Such a great layout. Conditions were perfect! A must play on the Oregon coast.
Great Coastal Course
What a great surprise from years ago when this course was a cow pasture. This is a fun, well maintained course that has some easy to very challenging holes. Cost to play seems a bit high at times compared to what you would get at some of the Golfnow courses. The 19th hole is a mcmennanins bar and that makes it a great place to play.
