Dodging water on the second, and every hole for that matter.. Photo submitted by aaronsbass on 05/18/2013
A gem in the forest
Excellent course. Very friendly with wide open fairways and greens in excellent condition. I will definitely play here again. Groundskeepers keep meticulously the areas around holes5,6,7,8. I was visiting from Florida and fell in love with this course. Maybe making 5 birdies and shooting my first ever round in the 60’s makes me bias. A 69 was best ever round anywhere. Thanks Indian Boundary for an awesome day.
Superb
Fairways and greens in great knick.
A very pleasant surprise for a public course.
Great course
This is a fun course to play. The course is good condition and staff is friendly. I like that this is a challenging course but not to hard for beginners. There are some challenging water holes too. Be patient, pace is a little slow because this is a very popular place on the weekends.
Good time!
Considering it's March and weather isn't optimal, the greens were surprisingly in good shape and it rolled true. Course layout is player friendly. Mid to high handicap should have a great time since it's wide open to lose many balls. Walkable course. There are 2 holes however, that may take a little hike to got to the next hole. Overall fun course.
Didn't know about no carts until we got there. Course w a s to wet to play but was open anyway. We stopped after 9 holes
Fun course great staff
Indian Boundary is alway a fun course with its wide fairways and large greens it’s a feel good course.
The staff is top notch always friendly and professional making for a positive experience!
I always have fun here just remember so do others so when the weather is nice it get crowded so be patient.
They stay open in the winter so i visit often on the cool winter days and enjoy a two hour round.
Fun course with nice greens
I always enjoy Indian Boundary. The staff is wonderful so friendly and you can play for a reasonable price. This course is very walkable and I did so today. It was wet due to recent rain but the course drained well and the greens putted well.
They are open on most winter day so give it a try.
The IB
I like this course it open year round. The play can get slow in the summer because it is only of the busiest courses in the Chicago area. Why because it has nice greens with a fun layout that simple with wide fairways like driving range wide.
The staff is all very nice. They called me at home to warn me of a frost delay the day before how assume is that?
I knew it would be short due to 25-30mph winds
Also it was 29F. Surprisingly when I arrived I was the only player the staff was ready and informed me I could tee off when ready. I played the front in 1 hrs 10 min walking/ jogging to stay warm. Once I made the turn about eight guys had teed off.
This is a fun course but plays slow during peak times because it get crowded and people play slow.
I play here about 25 times a year mostly in bad weather to keep the pace of play quicker
Very nice except sand traps needed a lot of work. Very wet hard sand.
FUN, great condition, AFFORDABLE & ENJOYABLE
First time playing this course —- fantastic value — not overly complex lay out —- fairways are generous — greens can be a bit challenging from undulations to varying sizes. Hole 8 & 16 were very fun holes! The value is great. Steve in the clubhouse is a gent. Go and enjoy.
Great Shorter Track Upkept Well
This place is really a hidden gem. A couple unique holes but for the most part very little trouble and you can score well. As others have mentioned pace of play can be an issue, but for the price point and conditions I really don't see how you can complain. Very walkable so you really don't even need a cart. Not many amenities, but what do you need other than the staples and some refreshments? Gene and Jude's is 5 minute drive.
Excellent conditions
Course was in amazing shape for October and a drought. Pace of play can be an issue sometimes but today was perfect just under 4 hours.
Online incorrect information
Site advised 18 hole round and the course had aeration. Fact was first 9 were being treated so only 9 holes could be played. This was error in online posting not course. Back 9 was in great condition and employees although stressed over online error very kind to many who did not understand.
