Pace: slow day for the course, so we had no problem getting around.
Conditions: tees, greens, fairways and bunker all in great shape. Golfed with a member who said the greens were running slower than usual, but we're still in great condition.
Staff: friendly and helpful.
Value: very fair weekday walking rate. Weekend rates seem fair too.
Layout: you'll get all the lake views in the first 4 holes. The rest is just well laid out golf holes, some using the hills well. The par 3s all did feel kind of the same. Greens have some fun undulations.
A tough layout along Lake Shafer
I have played Tippecanoe CC many times and always enjoy coming back here. It is an extremely challenging layout with a variety of hole shapes and lengths. The par 3's in particular, are difficult with 3 of the 4 measuring at 175 yards or more from the member's tees. You'll use every club in your bag and you maneuver around this track. We paid a senior rate of $30 which I thought was very fair. The course and greens were in great shape and it was a fun day for my group.
If you want a challenge on a nice course in mid-north Indiana, then Tippecanoe CC is for you.
Nice layout with rolling hills and Lake Shafer.
First time playing the course, it was challenging and yet fair. The course gives different elevations and some blind shots that will be negotiated the second time I played the course. John was very friendly in the Proshop,
Fantastic course
They maintain this course like crazy and it shows. Fairway and rough mowed, bunkers turned and raked, greens very smooth.
Front 9 very scenic along the lake. We started early and pace was great. Can’t say enough good about this course. Worth the drive, about hour and half from Westfield area.
Too Many Weird Holes
I have played this course 2-3 times a year for several years, mostly as a change of pace or to accommodate a friend who lives nearby. It is a fair drive for me (50 minutes) and i only play when there is a Golf Now Hot Deal because the rack rate is too salty for my budget. But I think I've decided that the layout is too funky for my taste. There are 5 holes with almost 90-degree doglegs, which I think is poor course design. Two holes have large trees practically in the middle of the fairway, which is unfair. Both of these holes also have very steep uphill placement of the greens, which is personally my least favorite type of hole. On the plus side, the course is generally in good shape and there are a variety of holes, from claustrophobic to wide open. The greens are generally fairly undulating but not unfair. The sand traps seem well maintained.
good course
It is good golf course, especially first 9 holes. I recommend to play here.
I have other question here, I hope GolfNow make a solution for Single player could book the 2 Golfers' teetime, es. There is a good course just near me, and has a Hot deals, but must be 2 golfers. but I'm traveler here, no friend here. I suggest GolfNow can make a group on GN system. Thanks.
Great course
This is my favorite course to play when I come up from Tampa every summer. It’s always in top notch condition.
First class as usual
I golf here every time I come up from Tampa in the summer. The course is always in top notch condition. Greens are true and somewhat quick. Fairways are very well maintained and the rough is quite thick, which presents even more of a challenge. Long par 5’s and a few long par 4’s. I highly recommend this course if you’re ever in the area.
Top Rate Golf
One of my favorite courses in the area. Both nines have a completely different feel. I personally like the front nine a little better, it’s more interesting and not as long. Great all around course, always well kept!
Well maintained and fun
Played the front nine with my 13 year old son. Holes on the lake were gorgeous and the course was challenging but left enough spots for two average to beginner golfers to have those “great shots” that make the day worthwhile. Can’t wait to play again!
Great course in great shape
Great course and is in great shape for early in the season. Only issue was no tee markers in the tee boxes yet
What a great track
Had an excellent time playing a beautiful course. Staff was a joy. Give all involved an A
Great Round
I would recomend this course to everyone I know. It was in great shape for this late in the fall. The staff were really friendly and the people we ran into on the course were all friendly. The front nine start along Lake Shaffer and offer some very challenging holes.
Fantastic
The course is in perfect condition - you really should go play here !
Great Old Course
Tippie is great old course located on Shafer Lake.
Always enjoy playing the course which is always in great condition!
Will be back!!
